help glow plug light does not come on

help please i have a 1.9tdi 2000 the glow plug light does not come on and the engine will not start

scan with vag scanner for faults

you need to scan or find someone that has got one if not check fues and feed to glow plug relay

You need to replace relay 109. Common fault and about £11 from the dealers.

Not sure on the Alhambra I'm afraid, but probably under the dash somewhere.

yes you were right it was the relay 109 got it from vw 14.76 thanks viking and it was behind the fuses on the right hand side

No problem. Just for the record, this particular failure doesn't throw any error codes up either. As it's the ecu main power relay, the ecu can't store a fault as it's powered down.
