Help! MK4 Seat Ibiza 1.4 S engine diagnosis light stays on

Hello people
As I was looking to sort out the problem with my Seat I came across this wonderful site of which I am now a member.I hope there's someone who can help me deal with my issue.
The engine shaped light of my Seat Ibiza (1.4S 53 reg.)came on flashing and the car started chuging when I was driving on my way to work.It was the coil pack as I thouth cus it did the same problem last month.I've replaced the coil pack and all the spark plugs as well.When I started the engine,the engine diagnosis light was still on but this time stayed firm(not flashing).Though the car stoped chuging and seemed to be running smoothly.
Does anyone know what this thing could be, and if I keep driving the car with the light on, would that make any damage to the engine or any part of the car?Hope I get some advice from you and safe some money I can spend on cristmas presents Thank you

my daughter had this on her clio last week. found out to be the oil very low in engine.

check your oil.

The same thing happened to my cordoba 2003 1.4. It was indeed the coil pack however the engine management light needed reset by a VAG Com. Found a local garage who reset and all is well (Cost £10) for the reset!
Good luck! Stay away from the dealer though - they wanted £80.00!
