help! short circuit, reverse light keeps flashing when driving and rear wiper stuck

was driving to work this morning nd a van followed me into the petrol station nd the guy said my reverse light was randomly flashing as i was driving along, thought it might go away but it has continued through the day.

also realised my rear wiper has also been stuck on all the time even when in the off position

any1 else had this problem?!

advice would be gretatly appreciated

was thinking it might be my rear hose leaking into a junction box?

I'd hope that you have two different faults, firstly a u/s reverse light switch and secondly a problem with either the control voltage to the rear wiper or a fault inside the wiper motor housing, or a faulty stalk (switch). Remember these wiper motors have a constant supply and a second control supply so that they can always return to the park position when the control voltage is removed.

my car's still under warranty so u reckon the stealers will fix this for free?

Maybe read the very small print on your warranty docs first - just in case!

spoke 2 the stealers 2day, engine's misfiring and coil pack is broken, at least i know wts happnin wi it now lol

That is always a possibility when you have two otherwise unrelated electrical problems. I'd hope (for any other Ibiza owners) that u/s earths are not normally the problem with these cars, and now a coil failure! Well they can occur anytime - maybe push the point that "it might be a manufacturing batch failure" so "or you replacing them all?" - its worth a try and it shows that you are aware that VAG know that lots of cars do have coil problems - maybe someone on here can remind us of the retro-fitted extended warranty that coil packs now have - it might be 4 years, not so important in your case as your still have warranty cover, but it might be useful for folk just out of normal VAG warranty - and who are having coil pack trouble.
