At a Shell garage..
Two birds with one stone.
You can see the FR mirrors below, and on the left is a Halogen Osram Nightbreaker - against - a H7r 6k HID on the right :)

Lol. In my opinion, If they are fitted correctly and dont dazzle oncoming drivers then you will probably get away with it. But, as far as the law states, they are illegal unless they have been properly fitted/retrofitted.

How can you get away with red side lights, and why would you want them?

i can get away with it cos i live into country a bit so after dual carriageway im basically fine and i want em for im going red and black theme and they stand out and i just like them. for £3 off ebay im happy

Quite a difference, the HID glares LESS than the halogen!

I have H7R`s too.. but in 5000k.

You would have to sand them down, prime, paint then laquer (unless anyone else knows another way?)

The HID on the right is more of a white than yellow, has less glare and is much more brighter on the road lol.

Yeah that is quite weird Neo, wonder why that is?
They are so much better on the road though, dont think I could go back to halogens now
Ive always got a few spare halogens in the car though, so in the off chance the HID bulb or ballast go, ive always got lights of some sort :)

I could`nt go back either.. well, unless plod told me too!

Think it`s the way the light is channelled with H7R`s, normal H7 HID bulbs are just as glary as the halogen only brighter!

I keep a spare H7R in my boot just in case.

Sounds right, would`nt want to do a bodge job, as it would look really bad when the paint starts to peel off due to bug splats!

H7R (anti-glare) has this band round the bulb that the H7 doesnt. Must be something to do with the way the light reflects off it makes it anti-glare. Its the same as an original D2R Xenon bulb.

That`s right.. the light reflecting off the bottom of the reflector is reduced aiming the beam lower so you get less glare. Like OEM xenons.

not another HID discussion  how much are those pedal covers that were mentioned earlier? :)

hid`s again yeah! :hide:

I`ve seen the pedals on ebay for about £40 i think (I have`nt searched lately), and I seem to remember some advice a while ago about the left-hand-drive accelerator pedal being a better fit than the RHD?

I remember this too..

yeh you need to go to get the LHD accelerator pedal which i got from the Audi dealer a few weeks back for £12.87, the brake and clutch pads cost me £30 from eBay.

Don't buy Wind deflectors, they make the car look like a wannabe Shogun imo (waits for the abuse from all who have them). What about a backbox?
