i want to get hid'd for my full beam aswell but means buying another set, think i might wait till next winter though as up here the nights are getting lighter, in the height of summer its light enough to drive without lights not that its advisable haha
I was thinking tonight that full beam might be called for, looks odd on full beam having the white and yellow on the road, I dont think having the HID dipped beam replaces the need for using main beam though. I will post pics in the other thread and post a link on this post in a minute

I had full beam HIDs for 6 months through the winter - however I got fustrated with the ignition time - they take a couple of seconds to heat up and so don't reach birghtness straight away. I'm now running 100w extra bright halogens with an additional wiring loom straight to the battery to eliminate the chance of melting my factory loom

Yes I don't think they would be suited to the purpose due to the warm up time like you say, plus the hid kits don't like being switched on and off repeatedly. If the bi xenon h4 kits use a shield on the light then I'd guess they would suit the purpose but not much use on a leon lol.
Don't think I'd run higher wattage bulbs either though In case the lenses melted.
I used a seller in the UK - To order a replacement set for Diane shop ones.
Reason being the wiring became faulty on the Diane one (approx one year) and they wouldn't respond to emails to get a warranty swap out. So I thought rather than feck around for 2+ weeks, waiting for emails, waiting for shipping back to them, waititng for them to test etc. I'd just buy a new set and upgrade to 55w. Oh, and 55w is noticably brighter than the 35watt. Now it really is like driving around with a pair of mini suns in your headlights!
I got them for 60quid off ebay. from a UK seller, and it was next day delivery. As it happened one of the ballasts was faulty within a day of receiving, but he swapped it out and got a new one out with a 2 day turn around from send to receive. I was very impressed.
I beleive the username was gthompson or something. Not sure.
But give him a shout on 07777653997 (this number was the company number on the ebay auction) Apologies if this isn't allowed.
I said I'd recommend him on my forum at some point, and this seems like the opportunity.
In regards to the quality of the HIDs themselves. I wouldn't concern yourself with where you get them from. From my experience so far, they all appear absolutely identical, I'm positive they all come out of the same factory, and these ebay jobbies are clearly built to a budget, as I've heard many reported faults with them, myself having had 3 now so far with 3 sets of HIDs. So I think it's best to get from a UK seller purely so you're not waiting 4 weeks to get a replacement out.
