How did they make the FL Cupra sound SO Good ??

^^^^^no mic listed there then so it's just a sound generator and not enhanced engine bay sounds. I bet if you operate it with Vag-Com it sounds like you're doing a ton on your driveway.

I wouldn't be surprised hehehehehehe. It is a little 1.4 after all. But the sound inside the car is good.

It's a speaker to imitate the noise in the cabin

I must admit, when I test drove mine, I was quite impressed with the sound. Sounded similar to when I had a GT35R on my pulsar blowing at 2.3 bar.lol.

Compared to previous TFSI engined SEAT's, the FL Cupra sounds amazing and completely different.

It almost sounds like a V6 with an open cone filter. It does sound like induction noise but its probably not because the airbox is exactly the same as earlier models.

It could be the exhaust, but it sounds like all the noise is coming from the engine bay.

Any ideas ?? All i know is its so addictive its putting my MPG down into the teens!!

I did read somewhere that SEAT had "tuned"the exhaust on the newer models, does that equate to what LOTUS and Some exhaust designers have been doing? Known as RSC - Reflective Sound Cancellation Technology, if so it is beyond the caperbilities of most of us.. ............................................................... Unless some one knows differently ??

To amplify the engine noise and play it out of a speaker it will need a mic to pick up the engine noise. As there seems to be no mic I would guess it's a cheap trick.

Sorry guys this is rubbish, try driving your cupra with the rear seats folded down………how does the sound generator/speaker compensate for this and make the noise louder, you can tell when you plant your foot on the accelerator the noise is exhaust noise and louder with the seats down. Maybe fit a bigger speaker you will think the cars going faster…….don’t think so!

It's not rubbish it's fact, the mk2 Leon Cupra and the mk5 Ibiza FR/Cupra and Boc all have a little speaker that produces cool engine sounds.

Nobody is saying that a mk2 Leon Cupra is silent and that the only noise that the driver hears is from the little speaker. The little speaker is producing (additional) sound.
