the halfords one is a boost/vacuum one is this still the one to use

I asked Halfords (via their web form) whether they could supply a standard boost gauge instead of a boost/vacuum gauge. See their answer in the Customer Q&A section here.

Click the tab to read questions and answers. I asked them again, but a little more specifically this time.

Bought these today.....

i intended to buy one but as they were overcharging me (the manager) the guy at the desk told me to take two lol

the buzz sound is a common thing with boost gauges its to do with there not being a constant pressure going to the gauge (i think) and people have had it without the egr race pipe

any chance you can let me know where you got them connetors from as i need one myself unless you wanna sell ur spare one??

Ive been running a boost gauge on my fabia vrs for ages

used one of those tapered hostails off bearing boys

just drilled a 13mm hole in the plastic boost pipe on the left, applied some PFTE tape, screwed it in, then applied a thin bead of black sealant around the outside to make sure of no leaks.

I have swoosh gauges and even with a no-buzz t piece I get buzzing when giving it some.

rather annoying, but liveable

without the no-buzz, you would crash the car on purpose after an hour driving its THAT ANNOYING, it doesnt even buzz it rattles even when driving normally as through someone had a set of maracas sat next to you.

where does everyone stick the restrictor? i read that the closer it is to the gauge, the less chance of the shivers everyone gets on the diesel lumps!

(read it on a few USA forums)

You will have got a 3 way T piece with that boost gauge Andy. You need to look in the ends, you'll see a valve in one end of the t piece. Blank one of the other t piece ends off and attach the hose to the other. You'll have one from the intercooler going into the end with the valve, then the other running from the t-piece into the gauge.
