the trip computer has always been wrong on the leons in my opinion. I have run out of petrol 3 times in 2 different cupras and the computer said 5 or 10 miles to go. One time just half a mile away from motorway services, next to an intersection so I couldnt run to forecourt and fill up a little 5ltr can.
I know it makes a difference if it says 10 miles and you all of a sudden boot it but when you get down that low and it says 10 miles on the computer and you see 5 miles to next services, you presume you will be ok--better to fill up at the half way point me thinks:blink:

Soz folks but i managed 700 miles the other wk !!
thats with filling it up right to the brim & using that venting idea you can get easily another 5/6 litres in there !!! God knows where its goin but never spilt a drop.

500 from everytank with normal driving is about the norm.

done 640+ in the summer on motorway driving.

Heres something the weight of just one extra person makes the difference.

If i drive my car say on a 90m round trip at ave 60/65mph it returns around 52/54 everytime.
But as soon as i add weight say half a boot & a passenger it drops below 50 straight away.
fulled loaded it still does 45/47 tho.

Def would be buying another Petrol car thats for sure.

Totally converted to TDI power now.

I've done 30 on full chat whilst 0 left on range.

Did 57miles in 45 minutes last night. 36mpg.

just travelled from surrey all the way to northern ireland via stranraer, average mpg 38 well impressed! especially with the road from m6 to stranraer asking for the heavy right foot excuse!

i filled up after going from 20-5 left on the 16 mile trip home from work
filled her up and she took 54.38 litres
not be doing that again

Well I have just driven like a granny for the last tank, and got 330 out of a full tank. A waste of two weeks driving, it's back to proper drivng now much more fun!!!

got 350 out of mine this week using sainsburies SUL , got a full tank of Texaco High Octane UL in tonight so will see how it goes, i do a lot of bust a road and short mway driving with an average of 18 mph-20 mph per tank, lots of traffic.

I hit 330 average on an entire tank of optimax that I use every fill-up now.
That includes a bit of "spirited" driving, but mostly motorway journeys of 20+miles or so.

Though I would see what mpg I could get now the car has loosened up a bit. This was after about 90 miles, M-way and dual carriageway. Tried to keep the speed at 70, sometimes lower sometimes a little higher.

If I had carried on then according to the computer I could have got 500.5 miles to 1 tank.... in a LCR !

Impressed. The only thing I did was let the car warm up properly and stick to the speed limit.

Giving mine the ultimate MPG test next month. I'm driving from Scotland to my new house in North West Germany. I'll be taking it easy in the UK (70mph) and will post my average figs between Edinburgh and Calais on here. Not much point on doing figures on the other side of the channel as the Autobahns are too tempting.

Don't need to worry about mpg there anyway as I'm getting Optimax for 40p a litre with my discount coupons. :funk: :D
