How much does your Leon Rattle?

Had two Cupras previously and not a single rattle or squeak in either of them. My Cupra R however has too may to count!
Rear seats,
Driver's window when slightly open (got a small water leak on that sill too), Suspension creaks when you get in and out,
When it was really hot a few weeks ago (hard to remember, I know) it developed a squeak behind the dash but that's disappeared now.
Also still have the annoying noise in the engine but having been back to the dealer twice he took me out in his demonstrator and that does it too so can't make them do anything about it.

Quite disappointed overall and sometimes wish I hadn't traded up - then I just turn the stereo up to hide all the noises and everythings right with the world again!

I had a rattle and found it was the rear exhaust hanger that had snap off from the pipe.
Took it to the local dealer which is letchworth autoway for me and said they would replace the rear section under warranty. So i am well happy with saves me repalcing it. :)

Success !!!!!! Had car into dealers today and all the rattles are fixed for now. Both rear door panels taken off to find that 2 clips had not been put on . Garage popped them back on and greased them up and "hey presto" no noise.

Nearside rear top mount rattle. Suspect failure of component, will confirm when I replace it at the end of the month.
Sunroof rattle when open on slide.
Intermittent rattle behind the dash, but may have gone now that I've had the glovebox out a couple of times.

That's about it. Most annoying is the rear suspension top mount, but should be fixing that soon. Hardest to cure will be the sunroof - headlining off jobbie. Don't trust the dealer to do it either, prefer to do it myself.

had mine brand new since december 2000
and the only single problem ive had with rattling is the rear seats which occasionally bump a little if you go over big holes
done 40000 miles now and it still feels like new
my car has also been apart a fair few times whilst fitting large audio systems in them

Could be the rear seat catch.
Try some WD40 on the catch. Worked on mine and now the only thing that rattles is the StopLock when its not on the steering wheel.

Anyone any ideas/confirm the following probable causes?
Rattle in the middle of the dash on the top, seems to be coming from near the windscreen vents.
Rattle around the bottom of the A pillar, drivers side. I think its the plastic over the top of the pillar as I can press in the plastic on the drivers side (like its come unclipped) but hte passangers side plastic, which doesnt rattle, is solid like its stil lclipped on?

Any ideas anyone?

Car was fine until I got to 40k then rattles started occurring everywhere! Back seats first (fixed with vaseline), then centre console (WD 40), then seat (moved to different position) now dash by radio (constant pressing). Im begining to stress!
Oh yeah, also water temperature light beeps at me on start up (yes got water in). Didn't happen when at dealers for service.... but as soon as I got it back - beep!
Have decided must be to do with hitting the big 40. Things aint what they used to be. Bits are begining to drop off and not work anymore.
Dissapointing really because car had been fine (LCR210) up until then. I can't be bothered taking car to dealers for rattles and squeeks. Just means I won't buy another Seat.
I bet the Honda Civic R or RS Escort don't rattle like buggery after 40K.
As I said, the car has given me a lot of fun, and I might be more prone to noticing rattles than most, but the enjoyment goes out of driving if you are either listening to a new rattle or trying to trace an old one.

No real squeeks or rattles in my R (still get the wet weather rear suspension squeek though!)

Its good as gold apart from the way it eats tyres and brake pads!
I guess thats the price of having quick cars

My old Ibiza cupra squeeked after a couple of weeks due to the rock hard suspension

last month i was driving around with no radio on and no air con, just to see how many mpg i can get compared to when i have the things on.

anyway, i had plenty on rattles from most places in the front of the car, especially around the climate control and radio area

quality resurrection :p

99% of my rattles come from the sunroof. the trim is loose and the roof rattles so ****ing much it's not even funny. i need to get it sorted because it's beginning to do my head in. pressing the roof with my hand to stop the rattling isn't a permanent solution..

the other 1% comes from the steering column. i extended the reach as far as it would go a few months ago and i think i broke something, as something vibrates on hard acceleration :(

apart from the sunroof, there's not really much else. the centre console is beginning to sag slightly, but it is very solid
