Hi All,

I am looking at getting a mk3 cupra but I want one that has been looked after, no dents, scratches etc and does not have any more than 60,000 miles on the clock, less the better.

How much do you think I need to fork out for one?

Regards,

Alex

As a cupra r owner the only things worth getting them for are the brakes and seats but, watch out for the ex rockingham cupra r's.

Brakes are good but aint really worth paying the extra for them. They are 2 groups higher on insurance

so you think that it would be better to get a normal cupra and put better brembos on with the money that I have saved?

What are the rockenham cupra r's??

What are the rockenham cupra r's??

A load of yellow cupra r's were used at rockingham for people to rag around. There are tell tell signs on these cars such as mounts where the cages used to be.

Thankfully mine isnt one of them.

If you can get a cupra r cheap enough then its worth it forthe brembo's but just be careful. Search for rockingham cars and theres plenty of info on these and what to look out for.

Brembo's are a worthwhile investment if you buy a cupra, very good brakes IMO

Do the r's come with k03s turbos?

What extra parts over the cupras do they have??

Regards,

Alex

No mate, same ko3 turbo as a cupra. You get red seat belts, an R badge, extra gauges (oil & battery), different seats & a carbon fibre engine cover. Suspension is slightly stiffer too as well as brembos

The R's were 180bhp standard over the cupras 156bhp

Ok, see what you mean the brembos and the seats are the best bits.

Do you think £6700 is a lot for a cupra r with 45,000 miles??

Regards,

Alex

Not really. If I were to sell mine now i'd look for around that much and mine has 53k and a few mods.

Some cupra r's are going for 8k still but thats too steep. What colour is it?

its yellow, its on pistonheads,

There is the link:

Yeah it looks tidy mate, it also has all the right mods in place so should be pretty quick and save you a few bob doing it yourself. He also mentions m0rks name which cant be bad, hes a moderator on here so you can always ask him to check anything.

Looks nice and low as well. When you looking at buying? These things dont stay up for sale long

looking to buy as soon as a good one comes a long. really the most important thing is that it is low milage which that his.

Might send MArk an email to see what he thinks of the car

Do you have any photos of the seats in the cupras and the seats in the cupra r's so that I can see the difference?

regards,

Alex

Just managed to pick one up totally standard cupra with 43k on the clock no scratches or dents mint interior, with loads of new standard parts for 4800 :p(think i was lucky tho). Think your looking at aroud 5500 - 6000 for a decent one, there not so easy to find in nice condition.
