Alrighty, just thought i'd ask this as a quicky. How much soot is normal kicking out from the exhuast. Just that a few of my mates and work mates who have been behind me while driving say that it kicks out rather alot.. i can see it in my rear view mirror too...

thanks

reading other post. what fuel are you useing as that seem to effect it. do you drive lots of mile as they say that you should go for a long drive and when it is warm boot it in every gear

mine is used every day round birmingham and goes out on a private road once a week to exercise his"vanes" after which there is no smoke for a day or so and instant throttle response.... cant wait to get remapped...:D :D :D [B)]

Mine only smokes on startup, once running it's fine. As has been said before, as long as you give it a good run it's fine - mine gets the full rev range in every gear on the way to and from work - no cruising in top for me ;)

Use Shell Extra as it has cleaning properties. That will clear the crap out of the engine and after 1 or two tank fulls you will notice the difference.

What you could try is taking her out for a spin and really giving it some in all gears.

i do givr it welly! was just a little concered as a few people have mentioned it.. you think they notice more as the exhaust doesn't point down unlike most dervs?
Yes..maybe..imo i am a strong believer that different fuel makes a difference. When my girlfriend followed me when I first got the car she said it smoked a lot. Since i put Shell Extra she said the smoke is a lot greyer.

To be honest i don't think the smoke is black.. (back of the car is atm!) it is more of a greyish colour.. does seem to smoke more than other dervs i see on the motorway though

Yes but you have a bigass turbo compared to other dervs. Change full to extra and see.
