If you want to stay with RS Focus and CTR's on track days buy some track day rubber too (Toyo R888 etc)

I was kinda hoping that by spending the 5k it would be the RS Focus and CTRs trying to stay with me.:(

Jabbasport seems to get the highest BHP figures from what I've seen. Someone I know took their Standard LCR to Jabba and it came out with 285bhp.

Quaife and Peloquin.

The one I've driven ws fin, just drives like a normal LCR, but grips where the normal scrabbles. Don't think it made a difference in straight line grip, but out of the bends/over humps/camber changes it definitely did...

Cheers for the insight, I thought the LSDs were meant to help in straight lines too though? I was hoping by getting one it would shave some time off the 1/4 mile. Also, does it effect the TCS/ESP or do they just function as normal, or do you turn them off?

Hi there, not all rolling roads give the same readings some are how shall we say it "very generous" With the correct mods 285 is possible though! If you do those mods you will quite easily pull away from a standard CTR or Focus RS!

I have the quaife diff and makes little difference in a straight line (Maybe on a patchy damn surface, it will scrabble for grip better), it's more for exiting corners! Oh and no it effects the TCS/ESP in no way, still all works as usual!

Thanks for the info, would you say it was money well spent? Is there anything that can be done to help put the power down in a straight line?

I'm starting to think the LSD isn't going to help as much as I thought it would. Is the better cornering worth the £1300 or should I be looking at spending the money on something else?

If you want to get the power down better in a straight line the only thing is to get some sticker tyres (Soft compound semi slicks) and uprated dog bone engine mount bushes! They stop the engine twisting as much and keeps wheels planted for longer before they start bouncing!

Money well spent? Yea i would say so! I have spent somewhere in the region of 4k!

If you are going to do track days and/or you like powering out of bends then the diff is a must! With 200+ BHP @ the wheels without the diff the inside wheel just lights up even in 4th!

Makes sense to get one fitted then, especially if I am gonna go down the bigger turbo route later on, cheers, I'll keep it on my list. Is it true that when driving normally you don't notice the LSD? It's only when driving hard round corners that you can feel it?

I'm also thinking about trying to loose some weight from the car. I'm thinking Carbon Fibre bonnet, lighter alloys and a space saver spare wheel from a TT. That should lighten it by a fair amount.

Anyone know what the lightest 18" or 19" alloys are? The LCR alloys are 21kilos each which seems very heavy to me.

Shame we never got to compare cars on the track, only on the road (no we weren't racing just driving each others cars).....would have been interesting to see whether the suspension mods or Quaife ATB had a bigger effect.

Similar cost for full suspension vs Quaife ATB

I don't know but I doubt that a carbon bonnet would make a difference in weight. RickC might have weighed his...

Thanks for all the info so far guys, its been very helpful.

Next question is : What is the best suspension setup to go for, makes and models etc, if money was no object?

So far the only shocks I know about are Ruddmeisters Bilstein PSS coilovers, are they the best ones to go for?

Ideally I want a fast road setup that is great for normal roads and trackdays.

Ruddmeister, did you have any problems with speed bumps on the Bilstein PSS coilovers?
How much do they lower the LCR by? I'd like the car as low as possible but I need to be able to get over speed bumps as theres loads in my area, and some are bigger than others :(

Just found this and although it seems expensive, it sounds like it is worth doing. Has any one had it fitted to their LCR on here? Also whats the best backbox to go for, I would be looking for one that looks the same as the standard LCR :

APR Cat/Downpipe - Seat Leon Cupra R

The only cat/downpipe replacement for the 225 LCR, 15-25 BHP increase when using performance exhaust and a phenomenal improvement approx 30ft.lbs in torque.

Title Awesome Part # Price
APR Cat/Downpipe - Seat Leon Cupra R EX-TT-CAT-APR-1 £995

I'm sure it's top quality, esp. when combined with the miltek's they sell, but if your thinking BT in the future it'l have to be ditched as the new turbo wont fit on it.
Dunno if i'd spend that much when blueflame'l do you a full system for £450 delivered (if you go to a show they're at and ask nicely).
I was looking at the PSS9's as they list specific fitment for LCR, but i'm more interested in the KW's if JBS ever get to me with a price.

But will the Blueflame give the same torque and horsepower gains as the apr/miltek, I'm assuming that as it's half the price it won't. If it does though, I'd defo get the Blueflame!

Why are you more interested in the KW's over the PSS9's? I thought the PSS9's are the best out there with the most adjustability?
