I kinda destroyed a wheel on my K1

40mph and a huge block of stone obviously thrown by someone in the road. Very poorly lit road, saw it at the last minute, no way of avoiding it

I reckon the brief glimpse I got, it would have been about 6" high and about 7" across.

..and yes, I know, the wheel / caliper is dirty.. been too much rain

Can anyone advise what are SEAT likely to charge me to put all this right?

OMG, thats nasty. Your lucky you didn't end up crashing the car aswell. Seems there are a lot of idiots who think it's funny to place large object on the roads nowadays. I really feel for you m8. I had a tyre sliced open on my old ibiza by an upturned man hole.

I would guess you'll need a new alloy. Give Seremotors a PM to get the best price on here. If not try ebay.

Thanks. Yeah I'm lucky the car didn't at least get up on two wheels. Hell I ain't no Russ Swift. lol

I feel maybe the wheel took all the forces fortunately. A little more rigidity and it may have been a different story. It's weird, after I hit it, I naturally braked but just kept on driving for about another half mile. There was almost zero lighting on the road so needed somewhere brighter to see the damage. I wasn't expecting to see that though. lol

Thing is, I'm hoping that there's no further unseen damage anywhere. The car is driving terribly so tracking will be shot and of course the wheel is screwed. Hopefully no damage to suspension components. I'm thinking just take it to SEAT and get them to safety check the car and estimate the repair costs. Then depending on what they say, PM Seremotors.

You'll need a new wheel mate that's a certain, the structure of the alloy will have been altered so you def need to get a new one. Good luck with sourcing at a good price, I feel for you, same happened on my old car, hit a limestone rockery type rock, serious damage!

Sorry to hear about that, have missed countless bricks/rocks etc recently. God knows how they end up on the road.

I would get your suspension checked out while you are at it mate. There is no way the wheel took that much of a hit without giving the suspension a good old jolt at the same time.

Seremotors will probably be the cheapest for a wheel, but it would be worth asking your own dealer too.
