I'm twitchy about the depreciation of the Cupra as it soon won't be a current model, but I think the TDI will hold its value well until the release of the next Cupra.

I think I'll sell mine before the new Cupra's released.

Folks, Im sorry to say - Its true, Just back from SEAT. Where I was finalising my purchase of the TDI Ibiza Cupra - got it for £13988 - Is this good??

The sales person showed me the document that announced the demise of the Cupra Petrol / Diesel and FR - Said something about Week 47?? not sure what this means - But it definetley said - DISCONTINUED.

Only good thing that can come out of this is that I have the BLACK Cupra that I wanted!! :funk:

The Cupra Diesel and Petrol. I was interested in these two so I looked for them - She said yesterday that the FR was to be discontinued too but not sure what one. There was two or three standard ibiza's to be discontinued though.

Someone should nip into a SEAT dealer to second me on this. Would be helpful. And come back with Accurate Results - i.e. Models etc. ;)

Cheer FRibiza - Hopefully it will be worth the dosh!

im sure you will be pleased.

Im going to Seat tomorrow hopefully so il find out for sure.

I'm currently thinking about changing my FR and atm there's only 2 cars that I'm interested in one being a Ibiza Cupra TDI and the other a MINI Cooper S.

After running through the design your own mini thing I'm thinking I will probably be going for the Cupra.
The Cooper S with half leather (£450), chili pack (£2,250), limited slip diff (£115), sports suspension (£140) and bodykit (£925) came out at £19,900.

I would doubt there is any possiblity of discount on a MINI so if I can get any kind of decent discount on the Cupra I'd be swayed towards it.

phil mate you need to get ahold of a cupra tdi asap, i'm suprised the insurence quotes were so close together would expect it to be a few hundred more but thats a good thing haha!!

I was a dealer in Glasgow. I'm waiting for a call tomorrow, told her I would buy it if she could get it as close to £13000 as possible. Its a pre reg. I was in the book at 15,559 - had a peek. To be honest I dont know if she will get it to £13k or not

There is an ex demo silver Ibiza Cupra TDI in Arnold Clark Seat in Linwood. I was there a couple of weeks ago. I think it was going for £12, 995.
Might give them a try. Good luck in the search.
Alex

I work at a seat dealer and the models ive listed come straight from the bulletin that all dealers were issued with :)

As of WK45 Both the Cupra 1.8t and TDi will cease production along with the 1.2 12v Reference and 1.8t FR.

Oh and the 1.416v Sport 85bhp will now be 100bhp from week45 onwards.

The Seat dealer in Milton Keyens has a few of them already - they are making a bit of a fuss about the extra 15 BHP that they have been given.

They either have them in the showroom early to take orders? Or, Week 45 has already passed?

Either way, im confused, and could not get any info from the dealer about models being withdrawn.

Looks like I'll have to get my finger out if I want to get me a nice new curpa tdi then.
Think I'll go check out some prices off my local dealers tomorrow night.
Whats the current prices being given for a new Cupra TDI at the moment?

Depends on where you live - some have been able to pick up new ones for as little as £14,000. The dealer here will sell a Cupra TDi for £14,900. See what I mean? A car supermarket might buy up a batch and sell them all at £13,500 or something silly, so look out for those type of offers.

If your cash strapped, why not go for the petrol? It's almost £1k cheaper, and costs just as much as the Diesel Cupra to insure. Over 3 years, you might not save as much as you think with owning the Diesel because the car cost more in the 1st place...

Thats a very valid point, though I do tend to only get mid 20's to the gallon in my FR tdi130 so I dread to think what it would be doing if it was petrol.

Not ruling a petrol one out though if the price is right then I could be swayed.

Mid 20's?! I hope that was a typo!

Nope no typo, 25.6mpg was what it read over a 22 mile blast after getting the boost pipes replaced. I had to make sure they did properly and wouldn't pop out under full boost.

I'm thinking the boost pipes haven't been quite right or maybe leaking abit for awhile as the car feels like it has more punch around 2k rpm.

Anyhow I'm gonna go have a look and get a few prices tonight.

Heres chart to show the changes to the ibiza range

 Your kidding right? I just picked up my PETROL MK4 Cupra today - gave the throttle a good seeing to on the way home, and still returned 24.2 MPG. That Diesel does not sound like it's running right!

Back on topic tho, and it looks like Seat is withdrawing all the fast Ibiza's :(. Glad I just got my new one today before they all dissappear!

Sounds like you have not worried about the cars running in period then!
