Right, I had a search on the RAC website where you can check a car's history.

N248 wasn't listed - perfectly feasible if the car has since gone abroad.

N247 was listed as:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Yellow
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 12 August 2000

So I had a look for N246:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Yellow
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 01 July 2000

N245:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Purple
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 24 November 2004

N244:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Purple
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 6
Last owner change 01 May 2004

N249:

Not found

N243:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Red
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 2
Last owner change 08 June 2002

N242:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Red
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 4
Last owner change 24 June 2002

N241:

Manufacturer Seat
Model IBIZA 1.8 GTI 16V
Body type 3 door hatchback
Colour Red
Fuel type Petrol
Date manufactured 30 December 1996
Number of previous owners 4
Last owner change 20 December 2004

Enough of the nerdy stuff.

Amazing what you find down the back of the sofa these days:

Evo 2 engine bay:

Oh lordy, and then I found this - Evo 2 rear beam.:

Edit: adding this in (found it elsewhere on the site)

The skipmonkey range of leisureware is being finalised as we speak - still not sure though if we dare challenge the Badger-5 swimsuit collection stranglehold on the developing muscle beach sector though LOL

Cool pics chris - N248 is abroad and is for sale currently in Austria for a very reasonable 17K euros

Shame they dumped the Lehmann engine in favour of one with 180bhp

Thats the weird bit - the spec sounds like a super-6 car (proflex etc) but its a wide arch car with F2-style front sumpguard and support...

half does & half doesn't - 6 speed gearbox, but then the wheels look so narrow. certainly a weird one.!

Looking at that rear beam, not sure it'd be strong enough really......
And thats exactly what I was thinking for an airbox - get a short rad and stick the airbox above like that - methinks the rad at the RHS is an oil cooler (?)

Cheers

Rob

Yes – presume that’s an oil cooler.
Another interesting one is the servoed bias pedal box. I looked at it at the time thinking ‘hello, that’s the answer’. In the infancy of the internet (1997) I traced the maker (Mosa Frein) to Belgium & it was later imported by Safety Devices.

The lightweight headlights are not those fitted to late Evo 2 cars. Can’t see a bonnet vent either. Front track definitely doesn’t look wide enough…Everything else looks ok.. Could have had a front end.. or maybe it’s a strange refugee car built up out of one of Rob’s six cars, Super Six or an Evo 1…. you just never know.
