No probs SB, think the problem here is that the car is such a new model that not a lot of people have them and therefore knowledge is pretty vague at the moment. Hopefully someone in the know will see these posts and be able to answer for certain !

Anyway enjoy the car, you'll love the new Ibiza !

Yeh, hopefully someone will. I been typing in search engines to see if possible nothing, going to a Seat Dealer on Sunday so going to ask if possible, just looking on Seat site under accessories and they are selling AUX leads which connect from HU to MP3 player, so you should be to access it.

Cheers SB !, the lead i need is slightly different. The standard lead for mp3 player to HU means that the song info would not show up on the HU, just on the mp3 player, it's only an audio lead taking the sound playing from the mp3 out to the AUX in plug on the car.

The lead i think i need is like a USB cable (similar to the one which a digital camera uses), i presume it will plug into the back of the HU and then the memory stick will plug into the other end of this cable, and the song info will then show up on the display.

Andy

Ah i see what you mean. Does the seat use 4x6.5" components with tweeters in the door?

Looks like it, i think they're 6.5's (4 of them), the tweeters are located in the door pillars (front), which is a better place to put them than where they were on my Leon Cupra. Sounds better in my view !

Do the stock speakers sound good? Or do you personally think upgrading them would be better?

To be perfectly honest they sound fine to my ears, then again i'm sure they could be improved on with more expensive speakers. I tried a CD full of mp3's on there today, turned the treble right up to 9, Bass on 3 and mid range to 0. Sounded crisp and clear with a very decent bass, no booming or rattling. I was impressed and that's saying something because i'd be the one to base my next car around the type of sound system it has in it !! - really !

lol, well adding an amp will really set the sound system off ! - nah it's a decent radio in my view, i think Seat do try to get decent sound systems in their cars, like the Aura one i had in my Cupra, i always thought that was a decent set. Then i got a Blaupunkt for it and cannot really tell the difference. I like the look of the new Ibiza radio, and it's simple to use, decent sound, not tinny, love the scrolling knob on it, just makes looking for mp3's a hell of a lot easier. They fall into alphabetical order and twiddling the knob scrolls down, press it to select - great !

Car

That is a beauty of a car, looks awesome in black [B)] I am trying to find out whether the one I ordered has your alloys in 15inch or some crappy standard ones on the SE, on the site it shows yours, but it says 15inch so i aint sure

All the best,

I saw an SE at the garage yesterday and it had the same ones as mine in 15 inch, so fingers crossed yours will be the same !. I assume you were referring to the seat configurator at http://configurator.seat.com/bcc/configurator.do?tvi=v.intro&cou=006&ses=1.

You may be able to get the upgrade for £137, but i think that needs to be done pre-delivery. I'm fairly sure the SE has the same ones as mine but slightly smaller ???

Andy

Well I hope so aswell :) I think that may have been the model I am getting cos atm Seat are doing 0% APR on 1.4 SE which comes with the standard features and 15inch alloys, on the picture of the offer it shows your alloys, but on configurator it shows different ones, So the one you saw may very well be the one on offer, I presume they have mass produced these in a selection of colours.

Yep, that's similar to the one they had parked outside the garage yesterday. Infact they had 2 S's, loads of SE's (all had the same alloys as mine at 15"), and one Sport version with the 17" alloys. The only new cars they had in with the steel wheels (as opposed to the alloy wheels) was the 2 S's they had in. So (hopefully) it's safe to assume that what you say is correct and you'd probably get the alloys on yours ! (fingers crossed !)

Nope, had another look at it today but cannot see any way of easing it out, cannot see any slots or anything like that !. I'll have to keep checking these posts to see if anyone has managed to take the HU out. Definitely will be wanting to get to the back of it in the near future !!

Ah ok :< Looking at the HU it looks pretty solidly stuck in, but do you know if the ipod/mp3 connector is factory fitted? Or do the add that feature at their garage?

Hi SB, apparently you cannot get it added after buying the car, it needs to be done at the factory. But i cannot believe that for one minute ! - there must be a simple USB cable to plug into the back of the radio, if only i could get the darn thing out to have a look !!!

Hmmm...maybe they are right, cos you dont see any posts about taking out the HU, so it may not be removable, but then again Seat want to make more money, I will die if you cant take it out lol!
