Cupra is in for service, and for a new headlight..... so ive been givin a 1.6 petrol 59 plate leon courtesy car. Nice comfy quiet car, but my god, thats the worst engine ive ever come across. Has absolutely nothing, no power, no torque, it doesnt rev, and sounds rubbish.

Why anyone would spec a car with that thing is beyond me. Cant wait to get the cupra back tomorrow. Along with a ****ing mahoooosinve bill.

Hmm thread moved to leon section... now it just looks like im beating on leons

Good car, rubbish engine, just so were clear.

Same car with 3 times more power and were talking!

Ahh, so now I get it. You drive an IBIZA Cupra that is in for a Service.
So as a courtesy car, you got to drive a LEON round for the day? Correct so far?

Unfortunately for you, they gave you one of the more "boring" engines - with no performance.
Perhaps if they had given you a Leon FR, Cupra or even K1 to cruise in, you might have come on and praised how great Leons are? ;) :D

When I owned my Ibiza (Mk4), I also got a Leon for a day - probably something similar to what they gave you.
I must say the brakes felt AMAZING! When i got back into my Ibiza and drove to the main road, I almost went right through, as I very quicky realised again, how spongy the brakes are in the Ibiza (to the Leon)! So I cant imagine how sweet the performance Leons must feel... but wait, I DO, as I've since UPGRADED to one!!!!!! LOL. :p [B)]

can i just ask? the Cupra and K1 are the same car, just one has a weird looking body kit on it? It confuses me sometimes as people make a point of saying K1 rather than cupra. having a body kit doesn't change anything? or are the different other than cosmetically?

Thats correct, the Cupra and K1 are effectively the same car under the bonnet.
K1 sports unique front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a larger tailgate spoiler.
Also has the chrome centrally-mounted, oval exhaust.

Similar thing applies to the mk 5 ibiza cupra / bocanegra.. same car, different cosmetics.

must say though, itd be a shame if the 1.6 was imprinted on your mind to represent the Leon. The beefier models are light years ahead in terms of power etc.

Handed back the leon and got my cupra back. Damn it feels quick

I will miss the quiet comfy ride though, and the wipers that flip inwards, thats cool. But my god that engine sucks absolute ass. On my commute to work it averaged 30mpg and took me 5 mins longer than my cupra that does 48mpg.

Maybe in a couple of years a leon cupra will be for me, they had a superb looking blue cupra with black alloys, absolute ****ography :D

Im back off to the ibiza section, laters all.
