i cant find aywhere tht does an induction kit for the leon 1.6 16v,
the k&n site says it does but after some research its actually for the 8v.

does anyone know of anywhere that does them
thanks

HERE ARE SOME VIPER KITS - THESE ARE THE BEST, AND ARE THE CHEAPSET COMPAREC TO OTHERS

http://www.edworthys.co.uk/prodlist~catID~12438~product_category~Seat Leon Mk1.htm

You have to work for them mate!!
Vipers...CHEAP!!
You kidding right. RRP of over £225 for an induction kit, ROFL!!

I got a K&N Apollo for my 1.6 and it did really well. They are universal fitment so will fit the 1.6 MAF housing. They have a cold air feed which attatches to the cone housing so ONLY cold air gets in...

Nice noise and prooven performance too!! I never had mine rolling roaded but it pulled nice and responsively. The mrs had one on her Mk2 2.0l Ibiza, and did have it rolling roaded. 121 BHP standard but 130+ BHP with exhaust and Apollo in tow!!

Cheap at £150 odd quid we cought ours for... Bargain!

Taa ghuys, ive had a look and think the BMC CDA is the way to go, i wud like the viper but its for the 8V and the engine bay is completley different. cheers

D_MCa - was the BMC CDA easy to fit, and is it any good?

Easy enough to fit just make sure everything is secure and sealed so no cold air can escape. Yip very good ive my leon chipped and once I put the BMC on it was a lot more repsonsive and had a lot more lift in all gears. Works well with my chip.

So any idea why these are only recommnded for track use?

I'm guessing noise and emisisons, could be wrong!

What do these sound like?

well the only induction kits for the 1.6 16v leon are the bmc cda (but not specific, its universal) or the k&n typhoon. What do you reckon lads, i cant really afford it but everytime i get in car i want one!! i wont be happy till i get 1 lol

im guna get a vipercross induction kit put on my seat leon. i have some picture posted when fitted

if its a mk1 put this in ebay 98-05 SEAT LEON 1.4/1.6L AIR INDUCTION KIT i got one actually not bad also bought a spare cone filter little bigger than what u get . i also modified my engine cover so it looks better

Hmm, I am interested in this thread as I too have a 1.6 16v and have been thinking of doing this, but I'm wary of getting something that sucks in warm air or one that is just a bit pants (£30 ebay special springs to mind).

Right now I've got a K&N filter and its pretty good, noticed a difference right away. But would it be worth £150 of my hard earned to upgrade to this BMC jobbie? Looks cool but at £150 I'm not sure it would benefit me as much as a £150 remap!

My stainless exhaust and sports cat help quite a bit, but I can't help thinking I'm missing something...

Would be interested to know if anyone's been where I am. I'm pretty wary of spending too much on this engine as ultimately I wanna repalce it altogether!

ive got the ebay special it not that bad im in the process of runnin a cold air feed to it also thinking of making a heat shield from the battery to the bulk head jus wonderin how to do it at the moment tho will let you know how it goes and how much it costs.

what did you do do with the breather pipe when you've fitted the induction kit as mine is all built into that stupid plastic cover any ideas?

i need a induction kit that screws straight on to maf sensor were would i get 1 klike that its an absolute night mare

under the engine cover you'll see which parts go to where etc throttle body and panel filter ive cut the part that goes to thr throotle body of and trim the side so it fits over the induction pipe
