Bill, does the induction kit come with the separate little breather filter (correct terminology??) or is that at extra cost??

Also does the CAI loop round the bottom of the battery and join onto the standard air intake near the grill?

I have one on mine and yes it does come with the oil breather seperatly, you simply cut the old hose down and have it next to the battery.

The cold air feed is possible to use the exisitng air intake, you will need to use the Hose bill suplies and cut it roughly in half, you then bend it underneath the filter and then it links up quite nicely with the exisitng air feed that used to attach to the air box. Its very easy all in all, and does work well.

Although i am currently looking to fit an XL dynatwist and my old man has offered to make up a couple of pipes for me, Includind a new air intake to run down next to the intercooler, will let you know how this goes. You could also do this with the standard FR synatwist as i find the corrigated flexi hose suplied is too restrictive, and due to the tight space in the FR you do need to put in a few too many twists and turns which is restrictive.

Or try what James did on his LCR and effectively "gas flow" yor existing box and then fit a panel filter and larger cupra intake.

i was just wondering, do you have to cut down the hose for the oil breather, as i intend to put the standard air box back on when the car goes in for a service, so cutting the hose would mean i wouldnt be able to join it back.

yes you do have to cut it, but ou can put it back together with some black nsulating tape come sales time. to be honest my dealer was'nt bothered about the induction kit, in fact if you look at my spec you will see i never have any problems with my dealer, in fact he supplied som of the stuff.

mmmm its ok, i mean my car is loud anyway because of the downpipe cat and exhaust, ts not a huge difference, maybe because the FR one is so much smaller.

Ramair might be louder but I would have to include some additional intake flexi pipe as RamAirs offering is a bit...erm... lame.

just a thought.

Which induction would you recommend i buy from past experiences??

Anything from Bill!! He's the only one who has shown any interest in sorting anything for the Mk4.

Give him a call on 07976800775, Personally i think you will be ok going for the standard kit that Bill does.

That was my thread you read, i am just trying out an XL on mine and will not be testing till the weekend nobody has fitted one to the mk4 1.8T before, so it may not even fit at all, we'll see, but only reason i am changing is because i am at the limits now on tuning, so just trying a couple of new things.

If we can make the XL size fit, its ex-stock. Building them into kits is a pain on supply to me at times from Green. Out of stock on one part or another.
Compiling kits from bits of assorted induction kits. RamAir/Green etc.

I need to know and confirm on Mk4's if its FR/Cupra petrol or diesel as the MAF sizes all vary accordingly.

bill

Got my XL Dynatwist from Bill, fitted it to my Mk4 Cupra. Now I can hear my dump valve. Sound good.

Quick question: From the pictures above, is it only the clip connecting the MAF to the Dynatwist? Can it withstand that vibtation?
The clip that clamps on the rubber sleeve should be ok aslong as its tight. If you thing it roars now, take the casing off and go for a drive. then you'll know what a roar is;)
