I'm runing a k+n open cone and a 007 dv in my 210bhp LCR and its got a lovely note from the k+n with a nice dump noise inside the car but not that much from outside. I have used the forge split r which does create a much louder dump when setup properly, though i removed it as i prefer the quieter 007.

Yes you can run without a dv as long as you don't mind replacing the turbo every few weeks

fair one, just from my understanding i would of thought that the pressure build up would of been to great for the turbo and therefore damaging it?

I think the ECU relys on the pressure being dumped back into the system and if there is no dump valve it reads it as a boost leak?

Yes for same reason I think.

But as said earlier a re circ dump valve with a open cone filter is pretty loud.....mine sounds like a normal atmospheric DV.
