Evening all,
My Ibiza FR's interior is in need of a good clean. i hate doing it the inside but love cleaning the outside(partly down to buying new products to try all the time i guess).
Its cloth seats/door cards and plastic dash, handles etc, so what wouold do it good? ive got Megs APC sat i nthe garage but never used it.
Also, i have sand deep in the carpet from playing astroturf football that i cant shift with a vacuum.
Any help is appreciated!

I find autoglym vinyl and rubber care is the best for me. It leaves a nice shine on the plastic which not only smells nice but it seems to last too. You can spray it on the seats to remove stains. It also works on the plastic parts on the exterior of the vehicle which for me saves buying several different products.

As for the carpets have you tried banging them against a wall or slapping your open hand against them. That seems to get out all the bits that you cant vac up.

PS - My Ibiza is almost identical to your. Its nearly five years old so im just freshening it up a little. ive just tinted the windows and am looking at painting the brake calipers red. Ive got the old Cupra wheels on so it makes it look a little different.

cool i was thinking about tints but im still undecided!
ive got the sand out of the mats, but this is in the actual carpet lol.
so you like your AG vinyl and rubber care does the trick. must be worth a try!

i know my family take the piss because the outside of my car is always clean and im always tatting around with it. now i guess i want to try my hand at the inside!

Im totally anal and I'll be the first to admit it.

I keep my rear seatbelts fastened all the time too . .

When I was growing u, I was always told to look after what I'd got, guess its just stuck with me

Another OCD sufferer here! I get ripped up loads for cleaning my car but what's wrong with having something nice. The way I see it, I don't leave my house looking like a sh*thole, I don't dress like a tramp so why let my car go!

Every 3mths I give my car the works: shampoo, clay, shampoo, paint cleanser, 2x polish, 2x glaze, 2x wax, 2x sealant and I am genuinely excited that it's due again this month :D

Back on topic though, Turtle Wax do some good trim polish that smells like Vanilla (or any other flavour you like). I uses it for a quick fix as it's doesn't last too long but bring up a good shine. Saying that, it doesn't bother me too much as I clean the inside every week anyway.

I get restless if I havent cleaned my cars for a week. Seriously I cant sleep !

Its a nightmare tho, Ive got two cars and a works vehicle to clean !

My mates take the piss because in my garage I have all the cleaning products on a shelf label facing out, each have their own cloth, all nicely placed.

House is same. I told you im anal !

I'm not that bad with the arrangement in the garage but I wet wash my car twice a week and always wax on the weekend. Yellow is kind of a colour that you need to keep on top of to get it looking it's best and always delaying that horrid paint fade. So far so good though, it's still all one colour :D. It defo needs more sealant though, the insects and their dirty little feet are sticking to it too easily now.

Ha lucky we dont live on the same street or we'd be competing for the cleanest car award. .

Its getting a little out of hand now tho, my sister wants me to clean hers for her. My neighbour wants me to sort hers out.

When I first met my lass she had an horrible horrible Saxo ( cant stand them ). Anyway when it came to selling it ( which i forced upon her ) she wasnt happy with the offers so I went to work on it . . .

She hadnt washed or cleaned it in three years !!! I bought new wheel trims and scrubbed the car. It had sap all over the paint work from her parking under the trees at home and it had never been waxed.

Anyway to cut a long story short I spend £50 sorting it out but she got an extra £1200 when she sold it

im only 21, i was 20 when i bought it its the most amount of money ive spent, so i love looking after it!
the probel mis my obsession only seems to becoming more anal! lol

My hard work leads to the car permanently looking like this. Between wet washes I use Quick Detailer:

Very Nice . . .

I saw a nice Yellow Cupra R pass me today. Made me realise what I've lost. People dont look at you the same in an Altea FR

If it's petrol then do it! I hear the the new diesels have problems sometimes.

Not sure what you'll get from the Altea but if it's turbo charged petrol then it should be substantial.

Anyway, got to nip off now and remove the 1st layer of sealant from my bodywork :D

Its diesel, thats why im reluctant.

Im working nights tonight and got up early today to wash both my cars. Its the first day we havent had thunder and lightening so I had to go for it before the weekend.

Going to be knackered tonight tho.

Enjoy
