intermittant EPC problem

every once in a while (i.e once every 10-15 times i start the car), it struggles to start (sounding like it has no petrol rather than a dead battery) and the EPC lght comes on. Once this happens, the EPC light stays on untill I turn off the engine and restart it. (it will be in limp mode while EPC light is on)

Once restarted, its 100% fine again, and EPC light is off.

Any one had this before?

I've got VAG COM but it never happens when I want it to to connect the lap top. Usually happens when I'm away from home aswell

if the epc light pops up it should leave a fault code even if it goes out. have u scanned it?

yeah,

I had 17704 - Error in mapped cooling system [the intermittant coolant temp sensor error (which i've had on and off for about a year with 3 different temp sensors and way before the EPC problem started)]

AND

I had 16706 - Engine speed sensor (G28) No signal -- intermittant

That last one was a new one for my car.

my maf sensor was at fault ,, that brought this light up changed it no more light

thanks. Ive onlyjust changed the MAD so ill have to see how it goes.
