got a cupra 02 plate, its got no changer just the standard head unit. whats cheaper buying a changer or ipod conecters and do thay fit?

There are three ways you can connect an ipod:

1. Buy one of these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Maxell-P10-iPod-Cassette-Adaptor/dp/B0007XCT22

2. Dension do an ipod link that plugs directly into the back of the standard stereo (where the CD changer would plug into). I used to have one of these, worked well. I'm not sure on the cost though, as mine came with the car.

3. Take the standard stereo out and fit an aftermarket one underneath the steering wheel. Then buy a Connects2 adapter off ebay (about £30-£40). This is the set up i have at the mo.

I have dension icelink ipod connector, connects straight into head unit by removing the CD changer ISO socket.

Good points:

Quality is at its best doing it this way
Full control of ipod via head unit, i.e. you an skip tracks and select the 1st 5 playlists on ur ipod
It charges your ipod while connected

Bad points:

It seems a common fault is the fact you can't skip to the next track, it skips like every other track when ur browsing through. i.e, when on track 1, if you skip to next track, it will go to track 3, then 5, 7, 9 and so on.

Solution...skip to the next song, let it play for 4/5 seconds then skip to previous track. It skips to previous tracks fine.

Also, its very pricey. I paid £99, which is alot considering it has some pretty basic fundamental design faults.

Trust this helps.

My best idea would be get an fm transmitter to put on your ipod and just tune it into the radio. You can oick them up for around a tenner on ebay.

FM transmitters are ok but prone to interruption, especially if your traveling fair distances (ie the frequency u tune it to where u live may be taken by an actual station if u went sumwhere else in the country) plus u have to unplug the things whenever u leave the car. I know im fed up with doing this!
