Hey,
Recently got a flip key. Used one off ebay and got a blank blade cut for my car.
In removing the transponder from my spare key it smashed.
I did get the one from my main key into the flip key and all is working. But i know have no spare key.
But I do have a used transponder from the flip key i got.
Got my SKC code and went to VAG-COM to code my previous master key with the used transponder in it.
So went in cleared the existing key count of two and entered value of two to save for new keys to be programmed. (needs to recode my working key too)
For some reason would only store the value 1 instead of two.
Transponder for either key now wouldnt match. So was left with no way of starting the car. Repeatedly re-tried the procedure many many times and wouldnt match either key.
At one stage my flip key with original transponder did match when i left it about a minute and a half before adding in the key and turnin on the ignition to match. But the other key wouldnt match so i tried again and again both keys wouldnt match. An hour later got same key to match again luckily and then stopped.
Both keys showed 1 in field 3 in the group 22 in measuring block.
#1
Was the main problem that the transponder was a used one and that it would have been ok if i used a 'virgin' transponder for both keys?
#2
when using my original transponder key in the process and when asking for new value of 2 keys to match, it would only store the value one.
When using the key with the used transponder it would only store the value 0.
Anyone know why this is?
If i got a 'virgin' transponder in the key would you think that it would store the correct value I ask it to store?
I'd appreciate any advice you can give me.
