...ok - its not SEAT - but some peeps may still be interested in the progress...

Our 24yr old Volkswagen Mk1 Caddy (Chugga!)

Bought from a chap in Reading, the adventure started with a long slow drive back to Manchester

Slow progress...
picked up some bling in the form of a chrome trim grille and treated him to some brand new eyes, the previous lamps were pretty dead

some time later...

New Shoes...
Out with the 15" wheels and in with the 13" ATS classics painted in gloss black with
polished detailing...clad in some 175/50 Yoko rubber

More bling...
Chrome front bumper - new old stock

a couple of hours work and the bumper is starting to look decent...

neglected for a few weeks...
grumpy at being left alone - the battery went flat...sisters 'bug to the rescue!

New clothes...
a sneaky look at what to expect soon...new paint colour for the new-look Chugga.

Also have two replacement doors & 2 new wings to fit...should be good as new :)

Driving that thing is comedy compared to the Leon (truck is a 1.6 flat diesel) - but i still love driving it - still manages to pull its own weight pretty well tho!!
Gets a lot of looks - even in its 'ratty' state!

cant wait to get it painted - roll on the summer!!

Sweet, great project car! As said, keep us posted on your progress.

A good friend of mine restored one a couple of years ago but still doesn't stop tinkering with it!

mini update...some delays in the project (isnt there always!) but back on track now...

picked up a Golf GTD (80bhp 1.6TD) donor car last month, engine is going in at weekend, but i've been running around in the Golf a bit...its a shame to kill this mk2 - but its for the greater good :)
