Are they both gear diffs? plate diffs? or what?

How many has autotechnic fitted of each? do they use the cars day to day? The proof is in the pudding as they say :D

Dor.

They are both gear type torque biasing diffs.

Autotechniks have fitted quite a few Quaifes but I'm not aware of them fitting Pelequins before but they may of done.

I heard that the Quaife and Pelequin designs are very similar due to the fact that Quaife never patented their design in the US... not sure how true that is?

Cheers

Diff design for the same diff type (gear type torque biasing) is going to be similar. I suggest the only different is likely gear dimentions, and overall material quality, i.e steel compositions, quality of machining bearing quality etc.

I have not heard anything particularly bad about the quaiffe set, so pottentially that's what I'd go for given the option (if it ain't broke etc)

Well I've got the Quaife and I like it, although from what I've read the Pelequin design has a few improvements in some of the areas you mentioned.

I thought the main difference was price, but given that the Pelequin is £600 it appears that they are the same price now.... so the main difference now is probably availability with Quaifes having a long lead time if they don't have any in stock.

Peloquin are superior in some of the fixings and hardware they use, and they supply everything you want inclusive of the kit.
quaife charge extra for everything. :censored:

moot point of course as Quaife aint available until they deem they will get round to making some! :hide:

Quaife is £575+vat +£85+vat for fitting kit.
Peloquins can be had for under $800 delivered to your door from the US. I make that about £450 v £775 for the quaife.

Their prices must of changed then, cos my Quaife was £600 for parts (Including fitting kit).

In fact, a mate knows someone at Quaife and they said that they would do the whole lot for £600 fitted if I could take the gearbox to them (ie. not the whole car), but i didn't fancy taking the gearbox off myself.

I hope that's only 02J diffs as I dropped my Corrado in with Vince today for a Quaife (amongst other things) and the only thing he said he was waiting for was the diff bolt kit.

That was 02J's with Quaife.... but when they run out again.... expect a long wait.

Does amyone know where to get the Peloquin Diff from in the States. I'm not bothering with the Quaife now as I need something ASAP.

P.s.

I got the carbon pads through on Saturday Bill. They are still being run in but the difference is amazing!!!!!

I found myself looking at Evo's and Scoobs today. I need a boost of motivation quick. Do people reckon Jabba are going to get these Ibizas kits fitted before the End of November or am i just kidding myself?. I am so close to giving in. Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Give over, you big jessy, you'll be moving to Brambles Farm next! :D

You'll end up being the bloke, red-faced with frustration, when Jool's yellow Ibiza smacks your @rse in your Jap-wagon! ;)

I've wanted an Evo for years, but now they just don't seem special any more. They just arn't that fast really. Driven one and it didn't feel much faster than my chipped Ibiza (Ok its fast off the line)!

I think that if you bought an Ibiza you'd be very disappointed.

I understand your frustration with the IHI, but it des appear to be coming closer now. I now actually have a date for mine (27th Sept!) and so at worst I can see the date slipping by a week, 2 at most, but not months! Then once mines done all the rest will be in at a rate of about 1 a week (I think).

Give it 2 more months.

I am just frickin sick of waiting, i drive the car once a week now as it is just no fun anymore. I think i will give it until November and if i aint heard anything i may turn my attention to superbikes again. I have my bike licence going to waste.

As for going to Bramble's Farm Glenn, i would sooner cut a knacker off. Most people have seen "The Delivernce" with Burt Reynolds "Squeal like a pig for me". I hear thats a regular thing down that way.

I am just at the end of my patience with it all, the Ibiza aint getting any younger, i am getting zero pleasure from driving it. I have been waiting 14-16 months and i have had about enough. Lets hope i get a phone call in the next month.

I made the decision to go IHI , bought the bits a couple of weeks later, had JBS fit it, with a few mods to make it fit, got it mapped, and wehey it's a monster. I realy don't know why you're all wingeing and fcuking around.
Buy the bits, get it fitted by a good mechanic/welder, get it mapped, job done.

Where did you get hte bits from?

Up until recently the problem has been that not everything was available, such as the downpipe.

Who mapped it for you? Jabba? What power did you get?

its a Golf so bits are available

Got 290/290 last time i heard but wasnt fully mapped

Revo map I think?

Jbs fitted it. Made a custom downpipe, custom intake. Cost v close to madmiles guess, Revo BT. The same bits are available for the beeza.

Custom maps, don't make me laugh. TT/s3 map tweaked, using a tt maf, and 440cc injectors.Max out load request, use a boost contoler to hold boost at the top end. The ECU will adjust out injectors up to 130% of the design size. 440/380=?. Well within adaption.
Then again I have a proper map. No error codes, (no cat) just smooth OMG fast power. Going to stealth tomorrow running slightly more boost.
