Slightly tweaked map!?

i would of thought it would require a complete new map as a map of revs Vs airflow Vs Fuel Vs Torque request would look totally different for an IHI!?

Still, if it works it works, and I presume you've had the A/F ratio properly checked with a wideband sensor?

but as it's been explained to me by more than 1 person - they[jabbasport] do need somewhere to start.

and as dimsport don't make IHI 'chips' they've had to get the biggest turbo one going & move the tables as much as they can.

remember - dimsport can't access as much of the ECU as other ECU's from 3rd parties - so whatever you do you're still bound by it's preprogrammed maximum's (and therefore error codes)

eg - if max boost is 1.5bar according to the ECU, then once you're past that then the ECU will log a fault.

Not saying it's a bodge, but that there are other, perhaps better ways.

you just need someone who can program a luminition / motec

I wasn't on about the map I'm running. I'm running 470 cc injectors at 4 bar. my long and short term fuel trims are near enough zero. A fueling map was done on kevs car with the same injectors on an e05. The rest is just maths. Air fuel of 12.5, lamda of 0.81-0.83, and 8-10 dbtdc for timing on boost, give or take. Not exactly rocket science.

Ever wondered why early IHI cars had s3 ecu's. Couldn't work out how to write an s3 prog to a golf/ibeza ecu perhaps.

Come on now guys, don't go scaring the punters. You don't really want them to know that you can count the number of VAG "tuners" with recognised industry experience/qualifications/training above the level of technician on the thumbs of one hand or how many of them have shonky business dealings going back over 15 years that I can remember. The VAG aftermarket industry would collapse if the customers could be @rsed to learn about their cars - there are more charlatans in this game than in a branch of estate agents.

I'm surprised at JBS. Maybee they have something in the pipeline themselves.
They did swear a lot while fitting mine, and I guess the Ibeza would be harder due to less space. Go and see them and talk to them about it. They're putting a 1.8t into a lupo at the moment, so they'll have a go at anything if you ask them nicely and pay well.
Spoke to vince at stealth this morning and he's fitting one to a Mk2 glof. Engines on a stand, and he still said it was a biatch. He said he wouldn't even consider fitting one without pulling the engine out.

AMD have done 2 or 3, and they've had all kinds of problems with both fitting and reliability.

I'm not pushing mine too hard for exactly that reason. I'm happy with a nice solid 300hp for now. Over a 1000 miles on it now without any DTC's or mechanical problems. I'm just hoping to get over 20mpg one day.

Do Jabba use Dimsport then? I thought that Dimsport was more of a "have a go yourself" hobbyist level tool?
