I hope j@mes is happy with his car, I also hope the 'experts' have done all they can for him and been upfront, honest and given the best customer service they can.

I'm happy sat here on the fence waiting for future results [B)]

yes i am happy at the mo peeps! :)

i really want to drive my car more, but cant at the mo as im so busy!

i went for a quick blast tonight... when booting it it holds at 21/22psi and i saw it peak to 26psi i think (was in 6th doin 80 i think when i put my foot down)

my car go like stink now so im happy... dont think my clutch likes my power to much tho! :(

im a bit surprised at the size of this thread now... and also as a result i now would like to get my car on another RR (well after iv done a few more miles, like 1000 more!)

and as for the boost gauge... its an autometre phantom 30 psi gauge, which i linked up to the DV! originaly i had a SW one, which "ticked" so i changed it for a automtre one as they r meant to be the very good quality! when i changed, i noticed the autometre under read by 1psi compared to the SW gauge! so it seams my "cheap" SW gauge was more accurate?! (oh well!)

all true ruddmeister i was just tryin to make it not seem like everyone was havin a go at j@mes he got a "good result"
There's a seat next to me up here on my fence if he's worried about any more crossfire down there in no man's land ;)

thanks guys! :)

at first i thought everyone disbelieved me, so i showed my graphs (i was goin to anyway)... sum ppl took the mick, which was big of them! but hey!

im surprised myself at my torque and bhp figures! (i thought id get 280 bhp and about 310lbs!) im not trying to say i DO actually have 353lbs but i do no i have a fair bit! ;) time will tell when im next on a RR

nice to see ur on my side... theres hope for us LCR boys yet! ;)

james :)

no probs j@mes u gotta believe wat th rr figures say an also u feel the power in ur car which is a good thing end of the day u paid for a faster car u got it so thts all tht matters i have autometre gauge is there not a more accurate place to link it up then the dv m8

I have a Stewart Warner gauge fitted in the FPR vacuum line using a T piece with a restricted boost port. It 100% accurate when using vagcom logs as a comparision.

I and others would remember Syphon's LCR having the highest power/torque from a LCR a couple of years ago, and yet on other dyno it was actually less than others.

go figure..

Dyno Lottery(TM)

:)

And on the same day Scott's car was lower than expected, mine ran a reasonably impressive 272bhp and 315lbsft at Stealth (remap only (Zboyd was a couple of bhp up with full Miltek))

Must have been the way you loaded Revo onto it Bill :cartman:.

Then at Awesome Gti I think I had 211bhp at the wheels with FMIC and other mod's

Less Dynolottery (you have a chance in a lottery) more Dyno Random Number Generators

At the end of the day it's a k04 on a 1.8t same head/cams/manifold/downpipe.
FMIC will help a little, mainly reducing pressure drop and maintaining performance with less heatsoak.Power will always be 250-275 ,torque will always be 270-320lb/t depending on how high boost is.

absolutely... :D :D :D

it was'nt on std settings if I recall tho.

I would be concerned seeing 26psi gauge on an LCR tho.
but hey, what do I know

revo seems a good bit of kit for a bog standard car.
Most torque i've heard of was 330lb/t on a k04.Melty ,melty mr k04.

Hi James,
I wasn't knocking your figures, just seemed an amazingly high lb/ft reading.

When I had my AmD remap on my LCR225 (53 plate) @ 4k miles the figures they produced from the rolling road session were very promising (279bhp and about 281 lb/ft). I was fairly happy but the car just didn't feel that quick to me or others.

When I turned up at the Stealth RR day (admittedly I'djust driven from Banbury to Derbyshire and back - then popped the car straight on the rollers) the figures were quite something else - 255bhp and I cant remember what lb/ft. This was on the day Rudd's car did 272bhp. The graph is on the site somewhere stored under the rolling road day section.

When I got Revo 2 on my 05 plate LCR it was because of a successful map we'd had on the missus Ibiza TDi FR(from Stealth), and the promise of good customer service. Now when it was done at Westec the figures that piped out with Stage 2 were 231bhp and 310lb/ft!!! Now the car felt SO much quicker than my AmD map it was unbelievable. Grant and Jock both tested the car and said - that feels like a 260-270bhp car. Rudd and I then went out together in it and it felt quite punchy. Since then I've had 3 revisions to the Stage 2 map and the current one is even better than the first as its far smoother and more logarithmic in its power delivery, not necessarily faster, but just more even across the range. Now we are all more than aware of the Westec rolling road issues, but to date I have no indication of the cars performance. I have had a FMIC like your since, but no other performance mods. However at JBS ZBOYD's car was only pushing around 240bhp (I think), with identical spec to mine.

Net result, I'm completely confused and to be honest haven't got the faintest who's numbers are right, wrong, or otherwise. If it feels quick then enjoy it. The numbers aside if it feels good its money well spent. We could argue all day about who's 'the' expert tuner, but I'd rather drive! Standing 1/4's are about the clearest picture you'll get of real world performance, and on the same set of rollers you'll get a loose comparison.

I would plumb your boost gauge in to the FPR hose though and not the DV - pipe much be getting damn hot.

James plumb your Gauge into FPR line, @ dv can be inaccurate due to being in same line as n249, this can cause flutuations as resevior fills empty's:(
