Just changed the console bush.....

Worst job I have ever done on a car lol

Only changed it for a replacement voided bush for comfort but decided to take the console off to do the job.

Then the bush wouldn't fit in but eventually after some work with a heat gun I got it to go in and managed to hammer it home but god was it a job. The alu cupra ones must be a nightmare.

Anyway it's stopped crunching when going over bumps now but still have a 'boing' when pulling off or changing gear.

Took me about 4 hours but the old one was busted so had to be done.

If you have the tools don't pay a garage to do what it not a major job, just time consuming.

The cupra ones just slide in with a vice/ g-clamp matey. Only 15 quid for the pair and change the front end of the car completely!

Glad you got it sorted though! You had the tracking re-done now? Mine chewed the insides off some tyres pretty quick

Changing them is the easy bit, I found after pushing the cupra ones in, getting the bottom arm back in was a right in the behind!!

Honestly the Cupra bushes are the best upgrade to do!

A garage replaced my 130 sport with cupra bushes (£100 fitted) as only wanted to do them once,i didnt notice the ride get any worse,before it was rock hard and after its still rock hard,

if you took that console off get your car tracked up. i did the samne when i did my cupra ones and i just had to change my tyres the day before christmas day cos they were illegal. only had them on 2 months! lol DOH! inside edge all scuffed off

Just wondering how much everyone got charged for fitting of their console bushes? Mine need doing pretty soon
