Well i bought a lovely Toledo 110tdi SE back in September and have been very pleased with it, and its just gone in for a major service at 90,000 miles at the main dealer here. Was very very suprised at the list of faults i got back, considering the car drives perfectly.....

I cant possibly afford to do all these at once, so which order would you guys get these sorted in? Do the prices quoted sound reasonable or should i look elsewhere?

1 - Rear axle bushes need replacing (£316.19)
2 - Rear discs and pads need replacing (£161.05)
3 - Exhaust center section bracket weld broken (£109.05)
4 - Both front wishbone rear bushes split (£144.71)
5 - O/S/R bump stop split (£99.16)

There were also a few advisory things, "broken but secure" inner wing shields, "broken but secure" undertray side supports, stiff horn contacts, a difficult to select second gear (although i've never noticed) and a slight oil patch around the crank pulley.

Have I bought a duffer?

Thorough garage there dude. I dont think you have a duffer i think you have a car thats done 90,000 miles. I would get a quote from a local independant garage that you can trust for the work. Your paying 60quid an hour labour per person on your car at seat. If you have the service stamp in your book just take it to a local and get them to fit the bits, should affect the service history as you wouldnt get a stamp for those bits :)

I was hoping that would be the response :)
I know someone who runs a garage and is very competent, and normally charges me about £10/hr plus trade price for parts. I'm glad the garage has been so thorough, it was just a bit of a shock!
I think im going to get the exhaust done this week, i'll have a crack at the brake discs and pads myself this weekend, then go to my mate for the rest.............

Thats exactly what you want. The dealer has been thorough so you know all the problems with the car. When you want them fixed take it to an independant and pay a fraction of the price. You get the car fixed cheap AND the service stamp!
