Hmmmmmm.... the world of possibilities.... there is of course the fitting too, although this shouldn't be a problem. Your car looks great for an LC btw Applemobile, VERY tidy indeed! One of the reason's i'm considering one. :)

I will scour the net some more, April will be the month, make me or break me, to buy my next car, LC or LCR.
 
If your just going to mod it for stage 2, buy the LCR or you will regret it. If your going to go big turbo in the future for definate, buy a LC
 
I have a LC and really happy with it got good power out of it without it costing a bomb to run can get very good mpg out of it when driven nicely :) only thing I would like that the lcr has is the brembo's but then they can be fitted and I personally prefer the look of the lc pretty sure the only difference inside is different colour headliner and a couple of red bits.

When you say big turbo you're literally talking about going hybrid right?

I can afford it but unfortunately i now have other things to consider mate which is why i'm having to go down the LC route...... gutted but at least i'll still have a Leon.... i can always upgrade. :) I plan to have this car for a good few years! Unless i have it for a little bit, save a bit more if possible, then trade in for an LCR..... hmmmmm we shall see.

Either way i'll let you know what happens next week! :funk:

In my opinion the LC with sensible mods is more than up to the job of a fast road car.

Admittedly the R does have better brakes and suspension but the set up on the normal Cupra is not exactly crap...the 312mm brakes are pretty good and cost much much less when it comes to replacing discs and pads.

Same with the suspension, when you lower the Cupra more than about 25mm the angle of the components is not exactly ideal but its still up to the job for most peoples needs.

For track action then sure the R is a better suited car but for every day driving I don't think the Cupra would dissapoint.

The seats in the R are actually the same seats as the normal cupra just a different colour with the R badge [unless its got the rare Recaro upgrade]

As for looks I personally prefer the more rounded look of the facelift cupra bumpers than the R's......but thats just my opinion :)

Never said it was a bad motor i just prefer the lcr. Just it looks more aggressive seats feel better and a lot more power i had my lc for 3 years and i loved every minute of it but if i had the cash then i would have gone for the lcr. Any way which ever car you choose m8 you will not be disappointed both cars are excellent.
And both cars can be modded if you have the cash.

Agreed. By all means praise the LCR but not by knocking the cupra.
The cupras brakes are very good with decent pads, K03s is very quick with little lag when mapped. Rear ARB transforms the handling. Its a very good car in its own right.

People who own a lc say its a better car .People who own the lcr say that is a better car.
It's up to you at the end of the day mate i have had both the lc and the lcr and i loved them both.
It comes down to hard cash at the end of the day what you can afford. But like i said in my last post both are excellent car and you will not be disappointed with ever one you buy

I just bought a bog standard 2003 LCR for a touch under £5k; I don't have any plans to do any modifcations which is why I went for the LCR over the LC.
 
Its all relative....are you really going to be driving on the road in a manner which is going to prove the LCR a better car beyond theory? If you are not a ****......probably not.

Though I toyed with the idea of the LCR bumpers, in my three years of LC ownership, I still haven't. Even when the car had a front end bump...I still didn't. Its down to personal preference but I still prefer the LC looks, particularly the rear end, I find its a bit rounder where the LCR's rear bumper is quite angular.

The brakes of the LC are by no means inadequate, they are excellent and fit for purpose. As yet i've still not tuned my LC though it is on the near horizon, and I still find it to be fast, comfortable and a bit more unusual. From that point of view, I rarely see other LCs on the road, and quite frequently see LCRs.

My car is moddified, and lowering the suspension is something that vastly improves the cars handling as it can be tail end happy. I've also changed the wheels and seats and other bits and pieces, but whats important to me is that i've done it cheaply. I've a mortgage and commitments that take precedence over spending thousands on modding a car (i'd rather house mod) meaning i've spend less than £500 getting the car to where it is now.

The unusual colour of mine is another factor that affects my biased judgement, which means when I draw up at a set of lights with a LCR beside me, I'm genuinely happy i've got the LC and I have no intention of swapping it for the LCR on the basis that its the top spec model therefore more desirable ergo better.

Ask yourself this....are you the type of person who would be bothered about parking an LC next to the "superior" LCR? If so...you have your answer.
 
If you have ur heart set on a lcr then get one, I was exacally the same and bloody gladd I chose to wait a little longer and get a lcr. If you don't you will be saying "I love my lc," but in the back of ur mind you will always think, "I should have bought a lcr!" The same if you see a lcr go past... Gutted

Yep, always have the nagging reminder (mates all have the LCR).
Had my LC 18 months now, at the time she cost £5k, garage had a LCR same year, roughly the same mileage, but was up for 7.5K.
Should stumped the extra though, for what I've spent on the Cupra to get to around 210bhp, the LCR would have been around 250bhp.
