more oil related problems.this is the first time iv come across this (trust Seat to find something new to mess up every day eh)

iv had oil leaks for a while now, sorted everything out that i could possibly find. now iv been told something else, oil is burning through the engine:confused:
smoke comes out of my exhaust when i rev it high which aparently indicates burning oil.

basically,my assumption is, i have a small collapsed hose, one that goes into the manifold, and connects to a mad oil housing thing which looks like a cap and then into the T.I.P. the hose itself is in the shape of a D (hard to take a pic of as its surrounded by other hoses)

it is indeed collapsed, and when i opened up the side, gunk and crap was oozing out.not nice.dont think its healthy, what could it be?

tried to get a replacement from Seat, they dont even know what the bleeding thing is.so im stuck there too...and i think this is causing a small rattle in the engine bay when sitting idle.when i rev it,it goes away.

am i in serious doodoo?

can you not drive to a deal and point at it? are there any numbers on it?

when you say manifold, i presume you mean inlet manifold?

Does this pipe connect to the DV?

where in the engine bay is this mad oil housing thing?
How thick is this pipe?

what colour is this gunk? like mayo?

are you referring to the same thing as the chap in this thread:?

ah interesting, that mad housing thing is where the green arrow points to.
and the collapsed hose looks like the one that connects to where the red arrow points to (on the right)

his boost is leaking, where i think mine is just an oil problem.

iv shown them, theyv brought up the blueprints, and couldnt find it.im going somewhere else to have a crack at it. the gunk is blackish yellow... the pipe is quite thick.

il try getting a pic up when i get my car back.would that general area contrubute to burning oil in the engine?

Sounds like the breather pipes to me. One from the block, one from the rocker cover and i think there's one from the underside of the inlet manifold. These all end up coming to a mushroom type thing and then back into the TIP. I had one of these split on my old Cupra, the amount of crap inside shocked me.

On the oil leak front what have you had replaced? I have had an oily smell coming from the heaters for a while now, the garage seem to think it’s the cam seal.

Time to get a oil catch tank to get rid of that gunk! Mine smokes when starting, a nice light blue colour! cant say iv noticed when my foots planted. Time for someone to follow me i think! Is this a common thing then for those hoses to split? I got through about a litre of oil every two months ish. Even me gramps' showroom golf came with a litre of oil
