LCR Cambelt change - DIY Guide

Anyone got a guide for DIY'ing the cambelt change on an LCR ??

Have checked m0rk's guide in the info base, but it's half missing (corrupt database)....

found this guide on the web, applies to MkIV GOlf 1.8T, but same principles should apply to the LCR...

just compiling a list of parts required for the job....

just need to find out the part number for the engine mount bolt.... as it's a 'stretch' bolt, and should be replaced if removed. Anyone ??

brave man i would get it done at a specialist for around £300 they would do it
inc the parts you listed ,, parts alone will cost you £170 ish from the dealer and you missed out on the 3ltrs of g12 you will need also

G12+ Coolant I think you mean.... 3L = 2 x 1.5L bottles @ £4 each

Have done several cambelts before, so am confident in doing it.

Would rather save £230+ and DIY it, rather than give it to someone else !!!

Haven't even tried ECP (with trade discount) or Trade Parts Specialist (with trade discount)

thats a good site never been on there before, take it there not genuine parts though? just had a look at my receipt from jennings the water pump had a £25 surcharge on it so parts were £145

some of the parts on there are Genuine. some of the parts are from the likes of Febi and Beru, who also supply car manufacturers with parts....

£171.43 inc vat £145.00 with return of old pump not bad for genuine bits if you do go for a aftermarket water pump make sure it has a metal impellar as my old plastic one was in a million bits

will see what prices I can get from TPS (VAG Parts Suppler in Derby) for genuine OE parts

and also from ECP.

although I'll probably go for genuine parts to be honest.

If if was my car I would also replace the damper unit under the roller tensioner.

also managed to find what I think are the part numbers for the engine mount bolts:

N10209603 x 2 (engine mount to engine)
N10516701 x 2 (engine mount to chassis)
