You could however have just started up the car at the top of a hill and coasted to the bottom!!!! ;0)

i promise thats genuine . it was a 56mpg slow 6th gear from watford to wales at about 5am in the morning tailing trucks over 150miles (approx)... i couldnt get it any higher, and beleive me it was hard work...

I got 425 miles to the tank with my B.C turned down on friday! Worked out at average 32mpg for the journey. I put 56 litres back in so doubt i would have got much more! The journey was mostly at 80-85mph so if i slowed it down to 60 in 6th gear im sure it will do better!

I wonder if the LCR can break 500miles to a tank?

In my experience of a 70 mile daily round trip (75% motorway, 25% twisty lanes )

I get about 25-30 mpg if I'm having a blast (within the speed limit of course)
30-33 mpg if driving fairly sedately
33-35 mpg if driving like a saint

Turn the air-con off and you get an extra 2 or 3 mpg on top of these figures.

Also depends on fuel. Super seems to give better economy than regular. Optimax is about the same economy as super, but much more fun!

Dunno how anyone is getting more than that. Maybe I should take the lead out of my right shoe.
