And before anyone says anything, yes i have searched on the forums and i'm even more confused now!

When i picked my Cupra R up in January the salesman on the handover said the engine took Castrol oil, he didn't tell which grade or if it was fully synthetic or not. I was assuming it would be 0w 40 fully synthetic but i can't find anywhere which can confirm this. So i know it's been asked a few times before but i'd like to keep things the same in the motor for now.

I know it's a bone question but i'd appreciate your collective knowledge on this please guys.

all dealers use different oils, ask the service department what velocity they use.

my dealer used quantum synta gold fully syn 5w-40, I buy mine from GSF for 30quid for 5 litres, lots of the vw/audi places near me use this oil.
I have also started doing a 5k interim oil change.

I use 5w40 mobil 1.

As long as it is 0w/5w and 30/40 and fully synthetic then you can use what you want tbh!

Dont worry to much about it!
