LCR or dc2 Integra?

Hmmm, well Ive got one to look at on Friday so will see what I think of it.

The thing with the VXR is the price, 5k when its worth 6.5k+ but I would be making a big compromise on the colour (red) the better mpg is also supposed to be better with them though over an LCR

Teg - better mpg, better handling but no boost :( lol

lol knew I must have said it somewhere but couldnt be bothered reading through the thread tbh lol

hmmm, must have been using vtec a lot for it to have only made that much difference.

I was under the impression that teg - 30-35mpg LCR - 20-28ish

I do a fair few miles though so mpg does sadly come into it for me. I do about 175 miles commute to work a week then a fair old amount other than that.

In the ST, I did 9k in 4 1/2 months :(

I'd take the VXR, well equipped, fast, decent mpg, easy to modify(not that an LCR isn't).

Only negative is the image it gives off, but I personally wouldn't care about that

Since when has a integra or vtec for that matter done 30-35 mpg?? Or am I mistaken

Obviously its going to depend on how much you engaged vtec but Ive heard the norm is about 38mpg on a run and 30ish on average tank to tank.

where abouts near Leicester are you mate?

Im in Market Harborough mate, u?

Im not so fussed about the image tbh mate, its the handling that puts me off, also the colour somewhat :(

If you can get a genuine 38 i'll personally find you at a show to buy you a drink! they'll never do that unfortunatly, i even had all new sensors to try and up the mpg, but it was horrific.

was talking about on the motorway under optimal conditions, well maybe sitting around 60 mph.

I would have thought they would do that really being an n/a 1.8 out of vtec.

Im sure Ive read many posts on the dc2 forum quoting those figures anyway. Either way, I would be pretty sure that a teg would return better mpg in general than a LCR

i think your delaying the inevitable you want an integra but for someone to help make you choice

how much are the vxr's trading in on , could you not take it off your mates hands and use it to trade in ??

have not owned either would love to but i would be living at the petrol station , but coming from the dark side a Cupra diesel mines on Weitec suspension not coilovers and a few mates have commented on how well it handles compared to their astra Sri, pug 106 on coilies plus a few others

so an Lcr with ARbs etc is going to be much better than my derv

ever thought about a Diesel ?? an FR+ is the derv version of an LCR , shares the same body kit etc just a pd150 engine which is 150bhp

with a simple few mods over 200 b plus lots of torque only what the petrol boys can dream of (plus the mpg figures we all get :)

mine RR'd at 198.7bhp & 293.0 lbft not bad from a decat exhaust and a carbonio induction kit really

best thing you can really do is find some people local or if your prepaired to travel

go see their cars in a modded form to what you would aim to be at the same figures and see how you like them then

my 2p worth anyway

Chances are if someone takes me out in one, that will sway me to get one.

It seems EVO mag like it over the megane 225, saying its the better drivers car as well :)

I was supposed to go look at one tomorrow but forgot that my girlfriend had an appointment at the same time I arranged to view it.

On the motorway at 70mph your doing 4800rpm. you need to do 40mph anywhere to get decent economy...
And never mind the fact that you can't hear yourself think, let alone hear the stereo at 4800rpm/70mph. Anyone for tinnitus? :stars:

Yeah, that would be ideal mate.

I did consider an FR+ before I got my ST and took one out a run but it wasnt for me. It lacked the sound and while it probably was fairly quick, it just didnt feel it. Shame as I really wanted to like it and the mpg would have been nice lol

Aright mate

Ive just sold my civic type r and got a LCR which I've already started boosting.

Overall the LCR is a better car and when its starts boosting its amazing, fantastic torque!!

My mate had a very highly maintained, modified DC2 JDM and i drove that loads of time. YES it was awesome quick and light but compare to my LCR its nuthing.

LCR more refined, when mapped and tweaked very good performance and looks awesome.

Civic will handle better than LCR but if you drive right you can tooool a LCR.

lol na not for the baby, although I do have one. I got on fine with the ST so not too fussed about 5 doors tbh, Im sure when he gets a bit older that will soon change but think I could get away with a 3 door for another year or so lol

I do think a boosted car would be much more fun to drive day to day and my heart tells me that turbocharged is the way forward. The sound of the turbo spooling up and a bov doing its thing has got to be one of the best sounds known to man lol

Im starting to favour an LCR tbh, vxr is a bargain but dont really want to compromise on the colour or have a car that handles poorly.

I could get the vxr and sell it on for a profit but would rather just get a car that I can keep for a year or so rather than muck about selling or trading/swapping etc really

Definitely any boosted car will be better to drive everyday than a V-Tec, gives a real nice sensation.

That VXR you are getting is very cheap dough, defo buy it and make a profit. Iam a fussy guy and I've heard the vxr seating position is less comfortable than LCR thats why LCR would favour me.

If you like the seating position defiantly consider the VXR as i would have one if the position was decent.

LCR few mods and its brilliant!!!!

seating postion is very very important for me too.

I hated it in my ST, far too high, same goes for ep3s, only way around that would be to get an anniversary edition with the recaros and get spoon/buddyclub low seat rails. teg is nice and low and the vxr passenger seat felt very low, cant quite remember with the LCRs though?
