Is this true for 1.8T's can't say have ever noticed the sound after switch off myself, but then again not been particularly looking out for it either.

The LC does not have this feature, so that's why you haven't heard it before. It's an LCR only thing.

really? not doubting you rob as ive never looked for the pump. but i get a wirring sound from the dash centre , almost a gentle bubbling directly behind the turbo. you can clearly hear it if you listen. im certain its a coolant pump indpendent of the engine

As far as I know, yeah. It was a feature of the LCR only. I'm happy to be proven wrong if that's not the case, but I'm sure it is

on my last car it wasnt goin on at all waranty job controler changed! pretty sure it was bolted on behind rad under battery ish! bolted to frame rail?

I'm still pretty concerned mine's not pumping. Especially as it sounds like there could be a potential problem with the controller then. Better go and try to find this controller I think...

i too get that bubbling sound, i thought it was to do with water pressure and it all settling down when the engine is off

should vag com see that error ?

A word of warning for you guys , if you have replaced your cooling fan control box at any point with one that is not for an LCR , your secondary water pump will not work :) as it runs through this.

This box is located under the battery.

from my old car, what it looks like, it sits about 3 inches down from there on the back of the rad pack.

Just cleaned mine quick Question about Secondary Water pumps when are they activated ??? A certain temp or certain running time

naaa mate thats the throttle body lol

Mine rarely comes on that's why id like to know when its suppose to

fuel pump not tb, ;)

secondary water pump isnt as critical as you think , coolant temps rise by 5-6 degrees after the engine has turned off, its purely to stop this, so i wouldnt worry that you're going to do any damage, us non R owners dont need em, (extra bit of weight reduction!:p)
