Is the roof spoiler on an LCR different than on a 20VT/FR/Cupra? Also did SEAT offer a body kit for a LCR with a bigger roof spoiler? Thanks

As far as I am aware the spolier is the same size throughout the Leon range but body coloured on the top end models (FR/Cupra/LCR etc).

There was no body kit option for the LCR but you could get a limited edition FR with the LCR body kit and 17" wheels excluding the Bremobos.

I think you would need to go aftermarket if you are looking for something larger...

Hope this helps! :D

Hi DPJ, how does your lower spoiler affect the handling of the car?

It's always been on the car, so I can't say what effect it has. The car is very stable at high speed. Since I went big turbo, a number of stress marks have appeared in the paint on the spoiler, I think from downforce.

* sorry, you also mentioned discs a little while ago. I don't get any noise in reverse with mine,

Hi Dave, I have alway been impressed with how solid the LCR feels even in standard guise.

Do you get lift on the front? I imagine your acceleration is pretty ferocious and such a large rear spoiler would put quite a lot of force on the rear!!?!!!?? My brakes are just plain embarassing in day to day life but on the track they really prooved their worth, I was braking far later than most of the other cars and had no signs of fading after 10 pretty hard laps. :D

I have AP racing disks on front with standard VAG on the back and Mintex 1155/44s on the front and rear - what set-up are you running?

Is this the car run in the castle combe saloons?

What about mocking up something like the old Super Copa's ran? Cut through the rear screen (perspex) and secured to the inside of the door

Should be pretty easy to fab something up like that (assuming you can get hold of that wing)

i know it would look ugly but couldnt it be bolted to the tail gate itself ?

if your a good track driver most people will only see the rear of your car :D

The one above is bolted in two or more places down long mounting rods.
This will save bending and flexing but still allow this to be light weight.

Thanks for the comments. Yes it is the car in the Castle Combe Saloons. I have been using a 'Gurney Flap' on the roof spoiler but it is not permitted for next year but I can fit any genuine SEAT part. I have a 'Cup' wing and bracket which can be mounted on the outside as suggested but I am waiting for confirmation that it is available from any SEAT dealer. I thought maybe there was a BTCC type body kit available?

I thought you might be interested in the cars spec;

Cool spec of the car... I guess it's the crimson one?

Anyway... Sadly the wing isn't a Dealer part (and a quick check on the SEAT accessory website shows that there are no 'styling' parts any more)

I'm very interested in this as I'm prepping my car for track days just now.

Could you do a build thread in the readers rides section. I'd be VERY interested in the finer points of this with pictures etc.

There would be many more guys interested in this too. We have a guy from Holland with a MK2 Leon Cupra track car with a build thread, this would give us MK1 boys something to aspire to.
