Where is your MBC located Rob? Willy mentioned that the springs expand from the heat so he relocated to cold area of the bay...
Is it not same argument for the DV relocation though? I remember touching a DV is the 'default position' and it was hot after a hoon around. When it was relocated it was stone cold after a hoon.I mounted mine on the firewall, and TBO is a F'ing pain to get at, i must change it.
Also never heard of the springs expanding due to heat, i doubt it but would love to see info on this, you will be passing charge air straight from the charge pipe through it so no matter where you put it, it will heat up.
