I've got to agree with points here. I love LEDs on cars if they're done right. The daytime running lights on the Audi, i think, look brilliant. I once had LED rear lights on my mk4 Polo. Some people liked them, some didn't. this was fair enough, but I liked them. It didn't look that OEM so for obvious reasons was mocked. Most Mk4 owners simply swapped to the mk4 facelift lights which didnt have the massive orange indicators, instead they were all red. But then again my LEDs weren't that chavvy, not like clear lexus ones anyway. the car was red, the taillights were all red, they improved the visibility of the car (brake lights very bright, gave it dual fog lights, dual reversing lights) and just the fact that the tail lights were two strips of LEDs on each side looked very cool - a bit like the Leons and Golf's LED circular tail lights - they look good.

However they were proper aftermarket lights from FK you could tell they were quality and they cost me over £200, on a car worth about £1k without the alloys! If they'd been shite ones from Halfords, then this would be chavvy - ones that didnt seem to fit the bodywork quite right, or were a bit dubious with the legality, weren't E marked or whatever, and they bulbs looked a bit pink instead of bright red. They'd ruin the quality look of the VW.

I guess where I am going is, if a good quality set of replacement headlights were made with integrated LED running lights then chances are they'd look quite good on the Ibiza - maybe a set of Xenons with LEDs built in along the base of the lights? but you can keep your stick on LED strips for the 17 year old, first car, Corsa, Fiesta, kind of look. For those who want people to look at their car a it goes past shaking nearby building foundations with its stupid exhaust, rather than us in our Ibizas, i think we need to have quality mods fitted. Subtle but effective

While these daylight running LEDs are being talked about, I think that they become law in Europe soon on all new models of cars - or maybe they become so already. The idea behind using LEDs for these daylight running lights is so that they have a long life and use very little power (green) while still providing enough light to be effective.
