Mines an 55 plate lcr, and the aerial doesnt unscrew out, it loosens then folds down, yet i want to remove it completely but just turns forever

Unscrew it as far as it will unscrew... Hold the aerial base and pull hard

I cut the little bit off the end of mine, makes it easier

well pulling hard didnt seem to work, didnt want to bend roof too much

yeh it needs a very sharp pull to get the bugger out what are replacement have you gone for??

Well so far hasnt worked, but got a civic aerial

try twisting from left to right whilst yanking hard and holding the base... if you actully look at the aerial you shold be able to see whats stopping it and then work it out

Well there is like a cylinder type thing which acts as a hinge with thread inside just gets loose then spins and spins. damn thing, it will come out sooner or later

pull harder i thought that i was going to rip it off the roof but it finally popped out

Its an absolute pain to get the old aerial off but the technique described above does work. I replaced mine with a Citroen C5 aerial, looks loads better and signal reception is not too bad.

You will definitely notice a drop in signal quality, the original Leon aerial is superb at what it was designed for.
