Has anyone had the reverse sensors dealer fitted, I know dealers offer this service on the FR/Cupra rear bumpers but has anyone had them fixed to the Aero??

Any comments would be appreciated, I'm thinkin of having them fitted to a candy white K1 but not sure how it will look.

I expect it would look dross if the sensors are black!

Don't think there would be any probs fitting them to a K1 - they may have to be calibrated to take account of the central exhaust though. Need to be body coloured though :)

Hiya :)

Mine's a CW FR with the body kit and I had rear parking sensors fitted. Sensors are white, took a day and cost about £200 at the dealers. :)

yes had mine fitted from new 2006 chris

SEAT in Stirling wanted £475 to fit them to my cupra, gave it a miss , I'm just real careful now..

You can always fit the META SR2 (on halfords website) it fits around the number plate and isn't too intrusive. I have one on mine.

I fitted a very similar kit to my 307cc. Dead easy to install. The 307cc already had mouldings for the sesnors, I just had to drill them out, then you connect all of the sensors to the module, connect the buzzer, find an earth and tap in to the reversing light live wire. Thats it.

I think the hardest thing will be getting the holes drilled so they are all in line and equidistant.

I have a Valea system installed on my FR which I did myself. They are very simple to fit and the control unit is hidden in the boot, behind the grey lining.

It was very easy to fit and as long as you measure correctly, lining them up wont be a problem. If you want me to post pics, let me know.

See above for some photos, hopefully! Ive never uploaded before!

The second image shows the speaker for the sensors. The fourth image (see the white box) shows where the unit is actually stored...I didnt have the energy to tear the grey material off again as its a pain to put back.

One major piece of advice is that it is quite a hassle to connect the sensors to the reversing light as it is on top of the boot so you need to work out which cable is for the reversing light, and then connect the parking sensor cable to it. I found it best to connect them together in the roof headlining.

I bought my Valeo sensors from towequipe for a very reasonable £49.99. I also bought front sensors but I havent had time to fit them yet, and they will prove to be a much greater challenge.

Any other issues, let me know.

Thanks for that Max! Great pics.
So you ran the wires up that left hand pillar into the roof lining? Was that tricky?

One other quick one, How did you get the wires from the bumper into your car?

It wasnt so much tricky as time-consuming and a bit painful on the hands!

I got the wires into the car by drilling a hole underneath the car. To do this I removed the grey 'apron thingy' (technical term but hopefully you'll work out what I mean), because behind it there is nothing so you can hide the wires in there.

It took me about 4 hours to do but it will save me a fortune through not hitting lamposts and other cars!

Anyone tried the parking sensors that don't involve drilling any holes in the bumper - The sensor is a long self adhesive strip that runs along the inside of the bumper - no holes to drill or visible sensors.
They can be seen here http://www.carparkingsensordirect.com/
Thought they might be pretty decent as I dont know if I wanna drill a load of holes in my bumper???

Personally i'm not too bothered about the bumper holes. They will be filled with sensors after all :)

Plus you'd still have to get the wires inside the car and complete the process of wiring up to the break light, which would appear to be the tricky part.
