Sorry for digging up an old post, but what is the maximum speed of the LCR in 3rd? I've definately done 80mph and once I think I managed 90 mph, but I only got a quick glimpse at the speedo as I was too busy looking ahead, so it may have been 80mph?
Had a go against my mates 20VT Coupe last night on our private runway. 20-160mph...
He's got Induction kit, Exhaust (maybe decat), chipped... Mine just Revo remap..
Up to 100 mine squeezed about 1/2 car length.. From 100-125/30 dead level.. After that he come past me and started to pull away to be fair. Was about 4 car lengths clear at 160.. It just seem to have the edge on mine as soon as i selected 6th for some reason... And i think the aerodynamics certainly helped to be fair...
Fair result though really, considering we've got simular power and his weighs nearly 100kgs less...

Ben, that sounds about right - you would have noticed from the off that your car had much better spoolup and less lag, allowing you to edge in front. Cupra-Jeff's car also does this to me sometimes, having less lag does does give the initial advantage.

In a word mate... No! lol He bought off Ebay funnily enough (it's meant to be a copy of a very popular chip that's available for them) and has fitted it himself as he works for Fiat and knows his way around them, big time!
It wasn't so much me pulling away on spool up. Just in general over 20-100mph... Then after that it went as mentioned above...

with your 14.2 @98, it is fair to say that your cupra will be quick in the first few gears - no doubt. And the terminal being 2mph less than even a standard 20VT does suggest that top end the 20vt would have the edge - so you would have had to do some good work in 1st and 2nd gear to beat a stock 20VT time (of 14.5s)! I've recorded over 101mph terminals in mine - as you said this may be predominately down to CD factor, and I think gearing also.
In that 1/4 mile video of a revo LCR vs a chipped coupe 20VT, the leon does beat the coupe off the line (has some beeping TC system I think?) and stays ahed through second gear. In 3rd the coupe comes flying back, and I'd agree that in 4th the 20VT would have a noticable advantage over the revo LCR. 4th gear in a 20VT is good for nearly 140mph. Have you guys seen the vid?

My 98 terminals was in a heat wave mate (only run it once, and only had 4500 miles on it) and i'm pretty confident it will be doing 100 mph terminals this year (April time). I do hope you're not suggesting that a standard 20vt is quicker mate? And they don't do 100mph terminals standard do they? Considering yours is modded?S1MMA said:
It wasn't the first 2 gears either.. It was to 125/30 untill he started coming back at me... That's end of 5th gear if i remember rightly... I would of been quicker over the 1/4 mile too... It was only top top end he beat me... Did go well though..

Ben, nice to see you've improved on your 1/4 mile time. Getting close to the 13s now, how many runs did you get in this time?
Did it on my first run mate.. Ran it about 5 times.. But as anyone who was there that day will tell ya.. The head wind was a joke.. Most people were about 0.3-0.5 sec down on there usual times.. I had my back seats out, but in normal conditions would of been seeing a 13.8 @ around the 100 mark I reckon.. Going again soon, ao will keep ya updated mate..
