Hi, My cars just done 15k now & i need new front tyres! Is this about right for the miles i`ve done? What would you recommend? & what price am i looking at? cheers all.

blackcircles or mytyres are both good. I'm on Eagle F1 GSD3 XL but i think Toyo are pretty popular, if you put LCR and Tyres into the search box it will bring loads back :)

Oh aye, 15k for tyres on the front if you drive it hard is not unreasonable.

I took my FR Tdi in for a 10k service and had to replace my fronts. Apparently it is the norm, heavy diesel, lots of touqe. I am comming up to 20k in a couple of months so probably need some more.

I think a lot of advice was to go for Toyo T1R's all round (I think thats the one) the R is a harder wearing tyre. I will wait till all 4 need doing though.

spot on for that mate, cheers. Thought it was about normal but just wanted to check. I better get looking for some!

I got 19k out of mine. I replaced with F1s from mytyres (use the click through from SCN to give them a cut!) and the grip is definitely better, but probably won't last 19k. You pays your money and you takes your choice. Plus they look really cool.

Hi, I had to replace mine at 12,000 miles as the fronts were like slick's!!! not good even with the traction control on. I put Michelin Pilots on the front in place of the continentals that were there, i recon there probably better, they grip really well and seem to be lasting quite well, i just clocked up 16500 miles and they still look new (ish) and i dont exactly drive my Cupra TDi like a fairy!!

:seatgod:

I got Toyo Proxes Tr1's alround on mine at 9400 miles.
The fronts were bordering the legal limit, so i thought i might as well get them all done.
Fantastic tyres and grip is far better that the P6000's i had on before

I got Toyo Proxes Tr1's alround on mine

Their the ones I meant, I heard they are probably the hardest wearing ones ( I think the R means reinforced).

I dont believe in mixing tyres front and back, so when i get my next service if my backs are still ok, then I will go for the same fronts (cant remember what they came with), if not then I will be replacing all 4 with Toyo Proxes TR1's.

How are you finding the handling of the Toyo's?

P.S. Regular checking of presures is a must to get the best wear out of tyres.

I dont put anything but Continental Sport Contact 2 on mine.. (or havent yet)

Mine is booked in for its 20K service at JKM this week, had the original tyres replaced at 10.5K and looks like ill needing to replace the Falken 452s in about 1K miles

Glad to know im not the only one who has to replace them so soon!

You can't miss with the F1, definately my first choice and one of the top 3 I had driven on.

I have the Yokohama AVS right now, and they are perfect for track days but every day driving not so much, they take a long time to warm up.

I also hear nothing but praise for the Pirelli Pzero Nero

Mines done 14k on origional tyres i believe so from what everyone else is saying i guess i will need to change mine in another 4-5k. I am going to go for Dunlop SP9000 or the Michelin Pilot Sports.

My FR came with Bridgestone RE040s on and at the 10k service, they were noted as being low on the front. I had the wheels rotated from back to front and front to back at a local tyre place, they're pretty close to the legal limit now at 13.2k

I mostly slow motorway/A-road commuter miles so quite a soft tyre! Looking at replacing them with something from Michelin like the pilot sports or the primacy hp

I have just picked up my new FR+ and they have put brand new P6000 on. I will let you know how i get on with them one the ahev bedded in

Still on my original set of tyres with 45k miles down so I'm really surprised you guys are only getting 10-15k. Admitedly it's mostly motorway driving but I'm not hanging around and the car is chipped.
