Leon FR TDi brakes...

Ok well i did a searchy searchy on here but found nothing of real use in helping find some brake pads and discs....

I read Pabs posts on weather to go for Pagid or ATE discs/pads.... but at the end of the post, nothing was said on what he got them from and where indeed? lol

Now I'm pretty sure that my car uses 312mm discs ont he front so i was trying to find prices on some grooved discs for it, but i cant find ATE or Pagid disc listed for the TDi in 312mm, only some Cupra R's?

So my question is, anybody know where i can get them from or know of another make of brad that do grooved discs for my car...

If your car is desiel im fair sure it has 288mm not 312. Its only the petrol Cupra/FR which has 312mm. Someone correct me if im wrong.

Yes but the petrol and desiel Cupra/Fr have different sized brakes. 312 on the petrol Cupra/FR and 288 on the desiel Cupra/FR

I guess its a point of finding a 2nd hand pair or carriers and calipers then...

Then more money for upgrading the stock 312mm to better quality ones..

I never did understand why the FR TDI had smaller breaks, especially as it weighs more.

Just found out that its £255 for the 312 upgrade kit and then have to go fitting on top of that....

Doh... but really need more stopping power now...

for the Black dimond discs combind with Green or Red stuff pads. H_MAN has them on his car.
Or try BIG BOYS TOYS.
They have been rated very good

Well ordered a upgrade set of 312mm now, thinking i should wear in the upgraded discs and just replace the pads with DS2500's i think, then later on, change the disc's one i have got some mileage on them!

I was thinking of ATE discs from eurocarparts, but they don't seem to do the rears?

Are ATE any good?

ive also been offered LPR discs and pads, are they any good?

Doh... but really need more stopping power now...

The calipers are the same, all you need are the carriers (like I just sold for 80 quid on here) and the discs.

Have you got standard 17" alloys? Sure i read someone saying the 312's only fit 18" cupra r alloys????

Just i want to upgrade my discs and pads aswell

be fine on 17s 18s are needed becasue the brembos need clearance on cupra r's

But the 17" FR+ alloys clear the brembos anyhow. 16's go over 312mm brakes.

Instead of getting new carriers and disks, would a decent improvement be seen by investing in good quality pads??

my motors getting a map shortly and I almost bought techies carriers but missed them through indecision!

There will be another set up soon as another Boca chap has bought an upgrade kit after just buying carriers like I did and realising you need the full lot for the Ibiza.

Right slick, for all your braking info give Bill at Badger5 a call - he will give you all the info you need then sell you what you require - oh and there are plenty of posts under the search function I know this as I searched for ages before going Porsche calipers/312 Ultramax discs/DS2500 pads
