I decided to put my summer tyres today but there was a problem.
My wheels are 17x7.5 ET42 and they touch the calipers both at the front and at the rear. Then I saw the my winter set of wheels (16 inch) are ET38, so what spacers can fix the difference between ET42 and ET38?

So 5mm or 8mm spacers will do the job?
Any danger of driving with spacers?
I haven't used spacers until now. My car is Haldex four wheel drive if this makes any difference.

well I can only advise as obviously I can't see the design of them and how close the spokes are to the calipers.

42-38 = 4 so a 5mm would seem perfect, you would prob need longer bolts to.

I got FK 6mm spacers so now ET is 36, but I don't like the look, and the rear calipers clear the wheel by a few milimeters only. I am planning to order FK 13mm spacers which means ET29, is going to be OK or it will be too much?
