I want to see how you have mounted it and where it sits exactly.

I've got it in at the moment, but it sits quite close to the coolant bottle + piping.

Looks like it could do with another piece of piping to bring it further away from the MAF and closer to the wing.

I know what you mean i bought one on the Group buy ages ago, wasn't happy with the fit so i took it off. Now running a Simota open filter with no problems.

I'm gonna go see if i can turn the maf housing, take the corner away from the coolant piping.

If that doesnt work then try and find somewhere that sells samco tomorrow and extend it closer to the wing away from the bottle.

I've rotated the MAF hosing so the sharp edge is away from the coolant pipes, and it seems to fit ok. Even though the rim of the RamAir filter casing is touching the coolant bottle.

Not really any where else for it to go, unless i get some samco and move it closer to the wing...

Sounds good though

Why bother, itll make next to no difference. By the time the air has passed through the turbo, ic and the other pipework there will be no difference.

The standard air box inlet is tiny and no doubt restrictive. Cant be anything but a good thing to have a larger inlet tract and a free-er flowing filter.

Your still governed by the diameter of the MAF sensor tube, which I belive cannot be changed since the MAF is calibrated to the size of the tube it sits in.

In understand the concept of flow velocity etc, but I dont think its quite as simple as increasing the bore of the pipe.

Increasing the size of the inlet will reduce the velocity of the air, the MAF will then give false readings. Ive read that if done carefully along with rational increase in injector size and some fooling of the MAP sensor that gains can be achieved.

Its gets worse if you've fitted a TIP.

I just changed the elbow for a samco one as the dynatwist went on a weird angle which annoyed me when i looked at it.

Now it sits straight and upright. Will post pics tomorrow when i fit the rest of this batch of samcos.

Heres a pic pre new elbow...

Have u boys had any more luck in fitting your ram air filters, because im also havin the same problem!

No matter what i do it seems to rub on the coolant bottle or the pipes coming off it. After spending most of this afternoon tweaking it, it seems no better.
