Mine is will clear of the coolant bottle now.

Also, i didnt strap it to the strut, i used another point to screw the strap to the car, have a look just below the switch for the bonnet thats attached to the strut tops.

Thank g-d other people have had the same problem as i've had. (beginning to think my car was weird!) I managed to get the filter on, not how i would like it though (one of the mounts on the bottle is held with a good old cable tie). The only way i think it will fit is by making a bracket that connects onto the coolant bottle's mount to its mounting on the car (if that makes sense). A small oblong piece of metal, about 5cm x 2cm with two holes at each end will do.You should get a bit more clearance then for the filter. Im planning to do this job in the next few days and ill try to post some pics up by then if you're still stuck.

Can someone tell me if you ever get EML problems after fitting aftermarket filters?

Cheers

I did, but for about five minutes. When i started the car first time after just fitting the ramair, the eml light came on. took it for a quick test drive, stopped, turned the inginition off and on again, light still there, told my mate who helped me just fit the kit, turned it off again and when i started it back up again, the light stayed off. I think the ecu just takes a few minutes to adjust to the new airflow. When did you fit the kit and are you still having problems?

I get a really audible DV noise when I fitted the RamAir. Couldn't hear a thing with the standard box, running standard boost. It's not atmospheric loud but still audible inside the car.

It's very noticeable when you floor it in 3rd or 4th from low speed and lift off around 2.5k.

At higher speeds it isnt as noticeable as the road noise/exhaust takes over.

Jambo, i did, but i couldnt get it to secure properly and it dragged on the floor, unravelled and promptly wrapped around my brakes.

I might get some ducting tho if i can find out where to secure it to properly.

Lol, I lost mine too! Bought a replacement from halfrauds and it got sucked into the dynatwist, quality workmanship! Wondered why my Gauge was peaking at 10Psi then dropping back. :cartman:

Well, im going to order a 45 degree hose to see if i can move it. If im still not happy with it, it will be getting removed. I understand that things can be close, it's where its touching two parts on the car, the coolant bottle and one of the coolant hoses that bothers me, to the point that its wearing a groove in my coolant bottle and the clip that holds the water hose is cutting into the filter itself. More hassle than its worth really i think  . At the moment its zip tied out of the way until i get the hose. But i have a feeling it will be too long, wouldnt want to cut it to find that it doesnt solve anything as that would be throwing money away :(

I've got a samco elbow coming from Bill that will move the ramair away from the coolant bottle and closer to the wing. Hopefully it will do the trick.

For the moment ive removed it and put the standard air box back on.
