Please excuse me if it has been posted before, did a search and it hasn't come up!

Instead of removing the TB to clean it, turn the ignition on and get a friend to press the accelerator, it opens up and you can gently clean it with a suitable brush and carb cleaner!

i though you werent supposed to be pushing the butterfly valve inside there as its motorised, unless your on a cable throttle not dbw

just read this and though i'd do mine - used a umbrella to prop the trottle open against the door pillar :D interestingly, found that me throttle body wasn't lined up with my intake manifold - as is there was a ridge at the bottom where the circles apertures were offset from one another if that makes sense - anyway, loosened the bolts, moved the throttle body relative to the intake mani, retightened, jobs a gooden! :D

I've never encountered a problem from it on quite a few cars, would be interested to know the reason why though if anybody knows. My guess would be maybe linked to the initialisation of the throttle butterfly position.
