definitely the best car to own in snow.

It might slide (a lot) but it's very controllable - fantastic fun

buy it eyes wide open & nice & cheap :)

it should drive & brake straight, but it will feel very different from a modern car (the brakes are far less over servo'd)

I'd pick up an early one, just because you have to worry less about emissions (therefore decat :))

parts are cheap enough, and there's loads of breakers parts available. have a look on Autotrader, you should be able to pick up a nice one for a grand easily enough.

If you want to have a nose round one before you go I'm happy to show you what to look for on mine

that mx5parts website are dirt cheap - use em at work as a supplier

yeah, they're pretty close to my work, so I can pop there @ lunch, and then there's the biggest MX5 breakers just about 8 miles cross country from home, so I have the best of both worlds!

perfect all round then :)

got my first ever speeding ticket in an mx5 34 in a 30 uphill :( (M49JAD) red 1.8is that the sales guys thought would be cool to put silver viper stripes on - lol

copper stopped me as last of 4 cars and even told me she wanted to see what it was as it looked good - still gave me a ticket though :cow:

Well it had it's first spit & wash of the year today (too grim & wet previously)

I'd been driving it roof down on Friday night & yesterday, so I thought what the hell, wash, drive & photo's.

I think that the new wheels suit it far better than the OEM ones, the back is so high - but I'm still loathed to lower it incase it buggers the handling

Given that I used my pocket snappysnap camera I was well impressed with the photo's (if not the depth of field)

Since I bought the clio I'd not driven the Mazda at all, apart from a bit of driveway shuffling.

Anyway, I insured it on Monday & taxed it yesterday, so took it out for the first blast of the 'summer'

God I missed it!

Now we're a three car family "legally" again for the first time in a while

Need to put some air in the tyres, and do some little jobs but it's going to be great!

It's going great - I can leave it for six weeks & it starts first time, but it's got a lot of use recently on the weekends

£700 is about right, and probably all mine is worth

A little bit of oil every now & then is all it wants

oooops, I broke the rear pads when I moved house (it'd been static for a little bit) & I snapped the key off in the ignition barrel

Anyway, it's laid up in it's new home at my new house now, ignition wiring all cut & spliced into a set of flick switches & starter button.

Once I've started the car (later today) I'll whip it round & change the pads quickly & then I can get out in it (looks to be warm tomorrow, so I think a run to the beach in it is in order)

MOT looming in November, so we'll see how it fairs in that.
